This collection is mostly the works of Amanda Goodman but works created by Jessica Laney

    may be within the collection. The collection was created in the following cities: Asheville, N.C.;

Anime Club. She attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville (2004-2008) and

graduated with a B.A. in Multimedia of Arts and Sciences (MMAS). She specialized in video

editing. She then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2009-2011) for her

masters in Library and Information Studies where she was a graduate assistant for the

department chair, Dr. Clara Chu. Goodmans duties included building a new department website

and a personal website for Chus project called the International and Comparative Librarianship

    Communitas.

From 2002-2010 Goodman began to collaborate with Jessica Laney on a fictional story. The

story was originally calledNeo Projectbut later became known asLink. This collaboration

spawned 5,636 drawings, which the sketchbooks in this collection are only a portion of the total.

Goodman and Laney also wrote 695 short stories as part of their collaboration.

    Scope and Contents

This collection consists of eighteen sketchbooks, one notebook that contains short stories, and

two binders with loose-leaf print outs of other short stories. All the objects in this collection are

in paper format. The manuscripts focus on the years 2002-2004 and 2009-2010. For the

drawings, they are not concentrated more heavily in any single year compared to other years.

Records are arranged in chronological order within the sketchbooks. There is some overlap in the

sketchbooks however due to smaller sketchbooks having been carried in Goodmans purpose

while she also maintained a larger sketchbook at home during the same time period. The order of

the short stories in the binders is undetermined and Goodman stated in her donation that they

were printed out alphabetically but may not have been put into any particular order in the

binders. The records were placed in the folders with the manuscripts in chronological order andthen the sketchbooks are arranged in chronological order based upon the start date for the first

    page of each sketchbook.
