Blessing of Food

The blessing of the Easter food was an im-portant tradition in Slavic countries and is still found in the Catholic tradition today. It is a wonderful practice that takes place on Holy Saturday, where families bring their Easter

food to church for the priest to bless. The food is then taken home and shared with the families on Easter Sunday. Fr. Yamid will do this Annual Blessing of Easter Food on Holy Saturday, March 31st, at 10:00 a.m. Bring your Easter food on that day for this very special blessing tradition!

Easter Flower Memorials

We continue the tradition of offering Easter Floral Memorials to our parishioners this Easter season. Eve-ry year, our decorating team does a beautiful job of adorning our worship and gathering space for Easter. Your gift of $10 helps to purchase the beautiful Easter lilies and spring flowers that bring beauty to our Easter worship. Pick up a Floral Memorial envelope from the pews or the tables in the Gathering Space, fill out the envelope with the name of the loved one you would like remembered and place it in the collection basket. We accept cash or a check made payable to: St. Paul the Apostle. Return your Floral Memorial envelope by March 26th, if you would like your love one printed in our East-er Memorial insert in the bulletin on Easter Sunday. Thanks for sharing!

In just a few weeks, St. Paul will hold nominations for Pastoral Council members. There are three 3-year terms available, as well youth representatives, who serve a one-year term. The nominations will take place on April 7th & 8th before and after both Masses. Please prayerfully consider

nominating yourself or a fellow parishioner who you feel will represent the entire parish in this important leadership role.

Remember, we are able to keep 25% to be used locally, which will be given to Racine Vocational Ministry, which helps the unemployed to prepare, find and retain a job. Their clients are coming out of prison/jail and the mis-sion is to get these individuals back into society for a meaningful life.

Divine Mercy Holy Hour

Come join us as we adore Christ our King during a special Divine Mercy Holy Hour on Sunday, April 8th, at 3:00 p.m. Together we will praise and give thanks to our Lord, and ask Him to shower down His Divine Mercy upon us and the whole world. "Each Holy Hour of prayer so pleases the Heart of Jesus that each man, women, & child on the face of the earth receives a new effect of

God's goodness and love because of the value of a single Holy Hour made in His presence" ~St. Faustina~

Please Pray With Us! We will be praying together as a community of believers the Divine Mercy Novena. Starting on Good Friday, for 9 days, we will be praying one prayer each day to save a different set of souls that were requested by Our Lord Jesus Christ to St. Faustina. We will be ending the novena with the last prayer on Saturday, April 7th, the day before Divine Mercy Sunday. Cele-brate our Lord’s great Divine Mercy by praying this novena and/or joining us for the Divine Mercy Holy Hour. 6 PALM SUNDAY OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD • MARCH 25, 2018

Lifelong Christian Formation

Stewardship Thought

This weekend we participate in the proc-lamation of the passion and death of Jesus according to the Gospel of Mark. In the extended version of this weekend’s Gospel reading, Jesus is at Gethsemene, praying to His Father, in much emotional distress. He knows he can save himself. He can escape over the Mount of Olives in the dead of night and make his way safely into the Jude-an desert. Instead, Jesus chooses obedience to His Father and waits for his persecutors. As St. Paul puts it in the second reading, Jesus is “obedient to the point of death.” Jesus’ obedience is a lesson for those who are good stewards of their life in Christ. Let us reflect on how we might be more obedi-ent to the will of God instead of our own will.
