Person Marker / Agent Examples

In ASL some verbs can be changed into nouns by adding the person/agent marker to the sign ( -er ).

It can also convey the inflection ( -ist, -ent, -ist, -or)

There are some exceptions to this rule

Teach + person marker = Teacher

Learn + person marker = Student

Cook + person marker = Chef

Dance + person marker = Dancer

Judge, Doctor, Nurse, Cop
