2. Results of Qualitative Research

• K- most village people know of the presence and purpose of the MPA

• A- a few believe and feel that they are part of the MPA management

• IC- Very few talk about MPA

• Intruders are both coming from within and outside of the village

• Intrusion will be eliminated if a new guarding system will be in place

3. Lessons Learned

A. Meetings• Conflicting schedules could

affect number of attendees• Assigning a Secretariat

(MENRO) speeds up the process

• Arriving at a consensus is difficult esp. during the 1st meeting

B. Qualitative Research• Private discussions could

create confidence and are helpful in surfacing out the real issues
