Tom Tom Founders Festival Production Principal, February 2013 - present Served as production lead on the art/music/innovation civic festival’s 2013 & 14 “Picnic Day in Lee Park” events, all-day, outdoor event featuring live music, food and libation vendors, arts and innovation exhibitors. Served as liaison to City Parks and Rec officials, managed event security staffing, vendors, volunteers. Picnic Day was one of the best attended, top-grossing events of TTFF 2013 & 14. Music Resource Center Party Like a Rock Star 2012 - present Worked with planning and coordination leads to create and install custom, themed large format graphics for the annual fundraiser. Center for Non-Profit Excellence Board Development Academy, Class of 2012. Participating in classes designed to provide training to a new generation of organizational board leaders. Curriculum teaches general knowledge about boards, governance theory, the history of non-profits, the board’s role and the development of strategic board service skills. Citizens for Jefferson School, 2001-2003, and present. Part of a grassroots effort to properly recognize and preserve the historic significance of the former Black high school and its site, and laying the foundation for the creation of the Jefferson School City Center (opened 2012). Helped coordinate a variety activist groups with ties to the school into a cohesive influence that challenged redevelopment plans of the property. Efforts resulted Jefferson School being placed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places, an oral history project, and appropriate redevelopment of the building and property. Continue this service with volunteer hours at the new Jefferson School African American Heritage Center.
