A s a response to the Church’s critical shortage

of vocations to the priesthood and religious life, St. Anastasia Parish is hosting a special Vo-cation Sunday. On the week-end of January 24—25, the priest at each Mass will speak about Jesus’ call of His first disciples. At the end of the Mass, Stanley Cellus, a Brook-lyn seminarian at the seminary of the Immaculate Conception

in Huntington, Long Island, will speak for a few minutes about his own vocation journey in response to God’s call. Immediately after the 8 AM, 10 AM and 12 PM Masses on Sunday, all are invited to Fr. Smith Hall for coffee and donuts during a showing of the brief (20 minutes) new DVD on priestly vacations entitled Fishers of Men. Knights of Columbus of St. Anastasia Council comprise our parish Vocation Committee and have committed them-selves to prayerful support of priestly and religious voca-tions. They have also been very generous in offering Stanley some financial support during his theological studies. Let us all support our seminarians in the major seminary (Huntington) and in our minor seminaries (Douglaston and Elmhurst) by our prayers.

Jump back two months: Eric O'Neill, a computer specialist who wants to be made an agent is as-signed to clerk for Hanssen and to write down everything Hanssen does. O'Neill's told it's an investigation of Hanssen's sex-ual habits. Within weeks, the crusty Hanssen, a devout Catholic, has warmed to O'Neill, who grows to respect Hanssen. O'Neill's wife resents Hanssen's intrusive-ness; the personal and professional stakes get higher. How they catch Hanssen and why he spies become the film's story.
