Theme Exhibition - Paving the Way: Chinese American Stories

主題展覽—篳路藍縷:在美華裔的故事 (In the Lunar New Year Exhibition Store, 2nd Floor H229 near Lord & Taylor)

The theme for the 2018 Lunar New Year Celebration is “Paving the Way: Chinese American Stories”. This theme exhibit recognizes the accomplishments of Chinese American predecessors, whose bravery paved the way for future generations to thrive in America and whose contributions and successes helped shape American history. The exhibit consists of 78 historical photos, 10 brief descriptions of the social and political environment at that time, as well as the stories of 10 Chinese Americans who were involved in the Chinese Community in the Washington DC metropolitan area. 2018年農曆新年特展主題是「篳路藍縷: 在美華裔的故事」，表彰美國華人前輩的成就，他們的勇氣為後人在美國的茁壯成長鋪展了道路，他們的貢獻與成功塑造了美國的歷史。本展以78張珍貴的歷史照片呈現主旨, 以10張看板簡要介紹當時的社會政治環境，還包括10位居住在大華府地區華裔人士在華人社區所從事各類服務的故事。

The members of CCACC Art Club of Chinese Painting & Calligraphy and CCACC Chinese Culture and Art League present a distinguished show including oil painting, Chinese painting, watercolor & calligraphy. 中心書畫藝術社和中心中華文化藝術同盟的會員展出油畫、國畫、水彩、書法等作品。

Photo Exhibition & Free Picture-Taking in Chinese Costume 攝影展&中國服裝照攝影棚

(In the Store near Center Court) All photos were taken recently by CCACC Photo Club members to illustrate the diversity of the Chinese culture and the beauty of nature. CCACC Photo Club photographers also offer free picture-taking in Chinese costume at 2pm-4pm on 2/24 & 2/25. 美京華人活動中心攝影社展示該社成員的近期作品，呈現中華文化風情與自然美景，並於2/24週六和2/25週日下午2時至4時為觀眾提供免費中國服裝照之服務。

CCACC 美京華人活動中心 Chinese Culture and Community Service Center, Inc. (CCACC) warmly welcomes you to the 19th Annual Lunar New Year Festival, which is a joint collaboration with Lakeforest Mall. In these two weeks, you will see many educational displays throughout the mall, including the Chinese paintings, calligraphy, and a special theme exhibition of “Paving the Way: Chinese American Stories”. You can also enjoy the vast array of cultural and traditional performances and workshops on weekends. CCACC was established in 1982 and currently we have over 2000 active members. We are a non-profit, non-partisan and non-religious organization serving the Greater Washington D.C. Area. CCACC promotes the appreciation of Chinese heritage and enhances mutual understanding through its cultural activities and educational programs, such as Tai Chi, folk dance, Chinese and Cantonese operas, Chinese painting and calligraphy, arts and crafts. CCACC also runs many services and programs to serve the community including Adult Day Healthcare Center, Home Care, CLAPS (Chinese school for non-Chinese speaking families), Adult ESOL classes, After-School Enrichment Program, Volleyball Clinics, Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic, and the CCACC Art Gallery. 美京華人活動中心歡迎您闔府參加由中心和湖林購物商場共同舉辦的第十九屆農曆新年慶祝活動。商場內的文化展覽包括中國書畫、攝影展及以「篳路藍縷:在美華裔的故事」為主題的特展。週末亦有各項表演、活動及社區服務諮詢。 美京華人活動中心成立於1982年11月，目前有會員兩千餘名。中心為馬利蘭州登記有案之非營利、非政治、非宗教機構，以發揚中華傳統、推動文化交流為主旨，開辦各類文化課程，包括太極、舞蹈、國劇、粵劇、書法、繪畫、手工藝及Toastmasters口才訓練班等，為大華府地區華人提供各項活動。此外，歡樂日間保健中心、居家護理中心、常青社、歡樂中文學校、成人英語班、兒童課後輔導班、青少年排球班、泛亞義務門診部及美京藝廊等皆以專業的水準服務社區。
