MEMBER Joseph C. Blanchette was born in Sep‐tember 1954 Portland Oregon and raised in Hood River Ore‐gon. Primarily self taught he drew and painted all that was around him even as a child. In 1973 he went to the Oregon College Of Education to Major in Painting and Minored in Com‐parative Religions. In 1975 he hitchhiked to San Fran‐cisco California to continue his education in both fields. Studied at the San Francisco Art Institute between 1994 and 1999 where he studied under the Non‐Representational painter Jeremy Morgan, and the Multi‐Disciplinary artist Carlos Villa to philosophically and technically explore this direction in his work. In 1985 he discovered the “voice” in his work that would allow him to move beyond mere representa‐tional studies. Recognizing the immediate emotive re‐sponse of Mystery or Awe by the viewer via the obscu‐ration by foreground elements of primary and secon‐dary light sources within an image, he was moved to continue the exploration of this content using existing and ordinary sources the for two dec‐ades. In 2000 he returned to Portland Oregon and in 2006 Moved into the Everett Station Artist Loft complex in NW Portland where he resides today. ARTIST STATEMENT: “I wish to reaffirm the meaning of beauty, which has be‐come maligned or obscured. My work is a minimal‐istic rep‐resentation, communicating the relationship between the transcendental and the ordinary not available in the various dogmas of ab‐straction or conventional realist styles. I in‐tend to the Transcendentalist view that any scene is a pro‐found mystery existing as the mundane. Using formalism, and an intuitive chromatic scale, the visually ephemeral and inconsequential is revealed as a moment of ex‐periential wonderment. Beauty, either by Art or by Nature, has the capacity to awaken the feeling of awe, and awe is the emo‐tional and bodily perception of the underlying Mystery of this ordinary experience….” Joseph C. The owner of Get Sushi Designs, LLC., a small jewelry and accessory com‐pany, Nancy loves life in the Pacific Northwest. With its ever changing skies and mountain ranges that occasionally rum‐ble to life, there is no end to the inspiration gleaned from living in her chosen city of Portland, Oregon. Nancy has received various recognitions and been actively involved within her industry. In five years of lighting production Michael has saved over 10 million watts of electricity by implementing a variety of energy efficient lighting techniques and technology.

Marie Saturn is a creative, open‐minded artist special‐izing in original, classic, romantic and clean pho‐tography. She creates images that transcend the limits of camera and film‐ timeless and unspoiled. She draws inspiration from her surroundings, experience and unlimited wealth of interest‐ing ideas. Her artistry is a unique combination of the camera's eye and the mind's en‐visions. Armed with intensity, passion and a contagious laughter, she commands control of her set and earns the respect and trust of her models, team, they and her clients have come to love and enjoy her more with every shoot. Fashion and style have always been a passion, and she started making her own clothes when she only was 11, learning photography even earlier at age 8 by hanging out in a dark room watching her aunt create photographic magic…. She’s owned several boutiques over the years from Califor‐nia to Boca Raton Florida, always finding someone some‐where sewing in their house, with unbelievable designs, wanting everyone to wear their clothes. She was the event director at the Boca Ration Resort and Club, bringing in events and fashion shows, showcasing tal‐ent ranging from Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein to cosmetics companies. Marie moved to Portland in 1999 to be the GM of River Place Athletic club, Hotel and Marina. Marie opened the first pop‐up on the Water Front in 1999, showcasing local designs. Marie has worked as a model, stylist and photographer for SEMPER Fashion, and is cur‐rently on the Board of Direc‐tors for Portland Fashion Week as well as being Lady Marie of The Royal Rosarians.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER Rah‐Miel Mitchell is the Program Manager for Ecopalooza. As the program manger he is responsible for managing the project development and communicating time lines to team members for both pre‐production planning as well as the production of Ecopalooza. As the founder of the non‐profit, Rah‐Miel has a passion for environmental sustainability and promoting the use of clean technology, especially by example. Having worked in the Computer Technology Industry prior to his involvement with The Ecopalooza Project, he saw the effects that electronic waste had on our environment and third world countries. He saw this as an opportunity to not only benefit our environment, but to also work with local schools by refurbishing the computers and then donating them. ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER Michael O'Loughlin has been a part of the consumer show business for 40 years. He currently produces the largest sustainable lifestyle event in the Northwest – the Better Living Show. Michael is the past Vice President of the Pacific NW Chapter of the National Association of Exposition Management and has served twice on the board of the Home & Garden Show Executives International. He was the youngest President of that organization. O’Loughlin was awarded the 2008 Horticulture Award by the Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs, the 2009 Tree Steward Award from the City of Tigard, and was named Vol‐unteer of the Year in 2010 by the City of Tigard. Michael has been a judge for the Miss Earth Pageant and was recently nominated for the VOIS Alliance Champions of Change Sustainability Leadership Award. Michael is a certi‐fied Wildlife Steward and spends his spare time building school gardens and coaching soccer.

JUDGE Reni DeLeon Fox began her career seven years ago as a College/High School Marketing Representative for The Art Institutes. Reni worked with students in the Southern California area to help them find job and educa‐tional opportunities related to Apparel Design, Fashion Marketing and other creative careers. After moving into the Career Services department for The Art Institute of California – Orange County, she spent three years collaborating with creative staffing firms and apparel companies to help fill design and design‐related internships. During this time, Reni also helped the Orange County school with the logistics for their annual “Rock the Runway” fash‐ion shows. Currently serving as the Student Employment Advisor at The Art Institute of Portland, Reni partners with local employers on fashion‐related internships and collaborates with local apparel retailers to provide employment opportunities for students. When she is not planning for job fairs and devel‐oping general job leads, she often meets with students to provide one‐on‐one job search assistance. Reni has won award several awards for her work with as both a Representative and a Career Advisor for The Art In‐stitutes. She is also a former board member for The Orange County Advertising Federation. When she’s not working, Reni enjoys all creative outlets re‐lated to art, photog‐raphy and fashion. She also loves travel‐ing abroad and learning about different types of cultures and cuisines. When it comes to fashion, Reni believes in keep‐ing several little black dresses handy and enjoys assist‐ing up‐and‐coming designers to follow their passion.

JUDGE Wayne Oppenheimer AKA – The Wizard of Wine, a native Oregonian, with his feet firmly planted in the greater metropolitan area but his heart is definitely in the vineyard. Owner and founder of WineUp T.V., WineUp Wine Mer‐chants and A Great Oregon Wine Tour, Wayne promotes the Pacific Northwest Wine Industry like no other. Always trying to quench his thirst for new wines and elevat‐ing his knowledge of the history and passions that drive this industry he moved to the Napa Valley in the early nineties and had the honor of working for and getting to know Robert Mondavi. Through his show WineUp T.V. Wayne has interviewed the who’s who of Rock Starr Winemakers, and Wine reps In Oregon and Washington and then shares those experiences with thou‐sands of viewers. With his purple hair and purple wine tour bus, because after all Wayne says purple is not just a color, it’s an attitude, he gives THE most entertaining and educational tours through wine country. When he’s not giving tours and filming interviews, he’s con‐ducting wine classes in his wine shop WineUp Wine Mer‐chants and hosting Wine by Eight wine tastings every Friday night from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. AND… as if that wasn’t enough he has recently launched his wine club, International Wine Discoveries and if you friend him on Facebook he will always respond to your posts. So when you’re walking around downtown and see a man in a purple velvet coat and his purple mad hatters hat, it’s Wayne out being himself, the Wizard of Wine making sure we all remember to enjoy our wine and enjoy life to the full‐est.

JUDGE Shel Bailey puts on high heels to blow dry her hair, and lipstick to play the saxophone. Shel Bailey, otherwise known as Bomb Shel, is a Portland personality. She's been in radio for more than 20 years as an on‐air broadcaster and marketing director. "The Spunderground", her electronic dance music show can be heard on 107.1 KZME, and she spins as a "real DJ" at clubs and EDM events throughout the Northwest. She moved to Portland in 2003 when she was accepted into the PSU opera department, and earned a name for herself musi‐cally as the bass player and front woman for her band The Big Package. Through the years Bomb Shel's also been spotted on local TV, first as co‐host for PDXposed on Fox 12, and then as Ex‐ecutive Producer for Empty Noggin, a sketch comedy show that aired on Portland's KRCW. Her motto is to entertain, inform and inspire, and has used her involvement in music and the arts as a means to raise more than $5 million for various charities throughout her career.

PORTLAND FASHION & STYLE AWARDS JUDGE Monique McKib‐ben is a true Oregon girl, born and raised in Eugene, OR. Upon graduating from the U of O in 2002, she immediately started living her dream of a career in buy‐ing. She started out as an assistant buyer with Troutman’s Emporium and then moved to Portland eight years ago to work on the buying side for Fred Meyer. She is currently an apparel buyer for Fred Meyer and is fortunate enough to say that she loves her job every day. She is also on the board of directors for the OSU Design Network, an active network of design and merchandising professionals in the Portland Metro area. She has been in love with fashion since she was old enough to walk, talk and dress herself. She credits her fashion sense to her mom, who was a super glamor‐ous Italian who shared her obsession with clothing and accessories. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, traveling, doing anything outdoors in this beautiful state, having new adventures, enjoying good food and drinks with her friends and family and spending time with her husband, Daniel and Boston ter‐rier, Lucy. She loves Portland for the outdoor activities, great local restaurants, proximity to wine country, shopping, boutiques and great fashion community.

JUDGE Dr. Inna Shimanovsky is a mercury-free dentist in the Portland area. She graduated from the highly regarded Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in 2000, and has been in her own practice since 2005. Dr. Shimanovsky offers all phases of dental care with special emphasis on cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry and she takes great pride in providing quality oral healthcare in a supportive and pain-free environment. She loves traveling around the world, experiencing other cul-tures and following up on latest fashion and styling trends.

JUDGE Beth McShane is an accomplished actress, singer, spokesperson and business woman. As third‐runner‐up to Miss America, Beth was featured in Glamour and Allure magazines, and was cast to play the title role in Disney's The Magical World of Barbie at Epcot Center. Beth has been featured in several national and local com‐mercials, as well as movie and television appearances. Locally, she has soloed with The Oregon Symphony, The Mt. Hood Jazz festival and the Portland Christmas Revels. She has performed with Stumptown Stages, Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre, and the Portland Chamber Orchestra. She has over 15 years as an executive in the non‐profit sec‐tor, and has made her niche in Public Relations, Social Media, Business Strategy and Event Planning. She was recently ap‐pointed the Global Accounts Manager for The Event Guys, a professional planning, placement and production company. BETH MCSHANE


JUDGE Dave Dahl was born into a family of bakers, but by his teenage years it became clear to him that being a ‘sissy’ baker was the last thing he wanted. That was about the only thing that was clear. He embarked on a self‐destructive journey of mayhem that passed through heavy metham‐phetamine abuse, extensive criminal enterprise, and un‐countable police arrests. After 4 visits to prison, DAVE had completed a total of 15 years behind bars. While incarcerated for the last time, in 2001, he had an epiphany. Dave discovered the amazing POWER of humility, which led to getting help (meds) for his debilitating depres‐sion. At around the same time, he was accepted into a voca‐tional training program‐‐rare in Oregon prisons‐‐Computer‐Aided Drafting. The com‐bined effect of humility, meds, and education was a profound trans‐formation. Dave discovered a passion for creativity that eventually re‐sulted in Dave's Killer Bread. The company's amazing success has led to many other op‐portunities for Dave. He tells his story of redemption to in‐carcerated groups, business leaders, and at‐risk youth across the Pacific Northwest on a regular basis. Dave’s Killer Bread is a major supporter of charitable causes that fit his mission, which is to help others transform their lives like he has done, and which he is certain will ‘make the world a better place, one loaf of bread at a time.’

JUDGE and Portland Picks' founder, Kathi O'Neil, started her career in Manhattan with Hearst Magazines and The Hearst Corporation. A native Oregonian, O'Neil and her hus‐band returned to Portland in the early 90s. There O'Neil started Westover Media, a full‐service market‐ing firm whose partial list of clients includes: Elle, In Style, Lucky, Tom's of Maine, Oprah, Gourmet, The New Yorker, Town and Country, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Conde Nast Traveler, W and Health, just to name a few.

JUDGE Francine Raften has been at the forefront of television, ra‐dio and stand‐up comedy for more than three decades in the Pacific Northwest. Her first radio show, at age 12, was “What’s Happening in 4‐H”. It wasn’t long before Francine and her recogniz‐able voice was a fixture on Portland drive‐time morning and af‐ternoon radio. She has interviewed hundreds of celebs and dignitaries including then Governor and future President Bill Clinton, teaching him on air how to pronounce Oregon. After many years at the top of ratings behind the micro‐phone Francine moved in front of the camera, as co‐host of Portland’s first locally produced television comedy show– “Snax: Comedy Tidbits”. The show made Portland a hotbed of local comedic talent. She went on to host Crosstalk, a public affairs show on The WB, followed by a stint as Pro‐ducer of “Fox News Extra”. And she has lent her on‐camera fundraising talents to Oregon Public Broadcasting for more than 20 years. She was harangued to try stand‐up. All it took was one open mic and the die was cast. Francine performed up and down the west coast for several years, recently co‐starring with the legendary Wendy Westerwelle (“Angry House‐wives” “Sophie Tucker”) in the West Coast premiere of Triangle Theater’s “The Jewish American Princesses of Comedy (The JAP Show)”. Francine is thrilled to now be part of the Earth2World Broadcast Television Network with her current program “Tell Me About It!”

Her work can be seen on televi‐sion shows including House, Veronica Mars, and Hell’s Kitchen, and in commer‐cials for Toyota, Nike, Intel, HP, and Discover Card. Kami contributes regularly to television, print, and online media outlets including MSN, CNN, AOL, Real Simple, Women’s Day, and Redbook.

The Evolution of Eco Fashion A pioneer in the eco fashion design world, PORTLAND

FASHION & STYLE AWARDS JUDGE Lizzie Parker is a nationally‐recognized designer specializing in modern knitwear for women with multi‐faceted lives. Lizzie herself is a wife, mother, designer, store owner, fashion show producer, and local philanthropist living and working outside of Seattle. Her clothing has been featured in Daily Candy, WWD, Lucky Magazine, Eco Stiletto, and California Apparel News. Launching her eponymous line in 2007, Lizzie has evolved her business as eco fash‐ion has evolved. Intimately familiar with the eco challenges and crucial ethical deci‐sions that must be made in the fashion industry, she will share why and how she recently rebranded her business away from a direct “Eco” message while remaining true to her ethics. The Lizzie Parker customer may not be looking for eco fash‐ion, specifically. But what they are looking for is a “workable” wardrobe of core essentials and fashion‐forward layering pieces. This customer knows that they can get more out of buy‐ing a lesser quantity of higher quality, longer lasting pieces. Having designed everything from the most essential basic “Lizzie Tee” to red carpet looks for Summer Rayne Oakes, Lizzie draws inspiration for her designs from daily life, in‐cluding her love of heavy metal. Her clothes create a mod‐ern wardrobe so women can make the sidewalk their cat‐walk each and every day. Lizzie has co‐hosted the Sustainable 1000 radio show and served as Co‐Chairman of the Board at WACAP, World Asso‐ciation of Children and Parents. She continues to be an ad‐vocate for adoption and better living. She currently serves as Executive Creative Director of FASHION FIRST Seattle, which holds an annual fashion show focused on local inde‐pendent retailers and the shop local movement. The event also raises money for Rise N Shine, an organization that serves youth affected by HIV/AIDS.

JUDGE Sophie Soong is a news reporter and weather an‐chor for KPTV FOX 12. You can catch her week‐nights and week‐ends on the 10:00 news. Though she's a California girl at heart, she's now proud to call Oregon home. As a self‐proclaimed adventurist, Sophie will try almost any‐thing once, especially fashion! She's obsessed with the lat‐est trends and loves pouring over fashion mags. If know of a great local bou‐tique, let her know! She can't live without her skinny jeans, a killer pair of boots and a fedora for those bad hair days. In her spare time, Sophie likes exploring new places with her husband and golden‐doodle Baxter.

JUDGE and Portland‐based stylist Amanda Needham, has received an Emmy for ‘’Outstanding Costume for a Variety Show’’ on her work in "Portlandia". She has also worked on Gus Van Sant’s "Paranoid Park", Thad Smith's " Everyman's War", and "Wendy and Lucy." Her work is distinctive, and she’s garnered notice for captur‐ing the look of Portland.

Patrick Lamb “One of the best instrumentalists I’ve ever worked with..” ~Bobby Caldwell Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Patrick began paying his dues by playing roadhouse music as a teenager in the rural south when he heard the evocative sounds of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Wilton Felder, of the Crusaders. He im‐mersed himself in the music of these great artists and began to discover his own sound as both a musician and performer. In the eighties his father, a high school science teacher, took the family to Portland, Oregon. Once there, Patrick’s playing and singing were developing into a formidable career, which began at the early age of 16. Although having lived in the NW, Pat‐rick found a way to infuse his southern roots and influences into his development as a musician, songwriter and performer. Patrick has been honored with numerous awards start‐ing with an acclaimed best soloist performance at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, resulting in a performance with Lionel Hampton. He has won 3 Muddy awards voted on by the NW music com‐munity, and was a final‐ist in the Rockstar Mix It Up contest. In addition, to his music based awards, Patrick’s production company was given the Spirit of Portland & the Caring Heart award for his contributions giving back to the community. In 1996 and 1997 Patrick was invited to perform at the White House during the holiday Congressional VIP Tours and was in attendance at “The Peace on Earth Celebration,” leading to a meeting with President Clinton. Patrick has been solidly and consistently recognized by his peers and community as a world class talent. Over the past few years Patrick has been focusing on his

own recording career as both a songwriter and per‐former. He com‐pleted six studio albums and produced an award winning show “Let The Good Times Roll, A Tribute To Ray Charles.” A Tribute To Ray Charles, de‐buted at the 2005 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival and the 15 piece big band All‐star group released a CD produced by Lamb at the 2006 festival during the trib‐utes encore performance. The tribute has received stel‐lar reviews both re‐gionally and nationally, and the show opened the 2007‐08 Ore‐gon Symphony Pops season. Patrick completed work on his latest solo project, ‘It’s All Right Now’ which was released, in July 2011, produced & co‐written by Jeff Lorber. Patrick’s new solo vocal CD bridges together his love of Funk, R&B, Soul, Jazz with his southern roots. This CD features an All‐Star cast of musicians, Alex Al (Michael Jackson), Little John Roberts (Janet Jackson), Dave Weckl (Chick Corea, Robert Plant, Diana Ross), Michael White (Steely Dan), Dwight Sills (Anita Baker, Babyface, Kirk Whalum) and many others. In addition to his new release Patrick recorded and re‐leased in 2007 an ‘old school’ R&B, Soul vocal album “Soul of a Free Man,” co‐written with longtime friend Lee Garrett who has co‐written with Stevie Wonder (Signed, Sealed, Delivered, It’s a Shame, & More) and a vocal duet/ instrumental CD with nine‐time Emmy award winning producer John Henry, and three‐time Emmy nominated singer songwriter Patsy Meyer. Patrick has appeared on other recordings with Gino Van‐nelli, Jeff Lorber, Tom Grant, Eddie Martinez, Dave Weckel, Nathan East, Ricky Lawson, ‘Little John’ Roberts, Alex Al, Bill Cunliffe, Tony Madian, Curt Bisquera, Her‐man Jackson, Mel Brown, Marlon McClain, Nate Phillips, George Mitchell, Paul deLay, John Raymond, Paul Jack‐son Jr., Tony Gable, and many others. Patrick also demonstrates a deep sense of community awareness and civic responsibility. He has performed for numerous fund‐ raisers to raise consciousness about the loss of funding for the arts in public schools. In addition, he has been involved with major civic efforts to raise money for the America Diabetes Association, Oregon Food Bank, the American Cancer Society, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, The Christie School, ALS Association of Oregon and SW Washington. One can’t help but be moved by the huge heart of this young man as it comes though in his civic awareness...and in his exuberant en‐ergy to entertain and uplift people.

Iris Harrison has been rockin’ Portland’s airwaves since 1976 when she was hired to work at KVAN. Moving to KGON in March 1977 she witnessed and fully participated in the true golden era of rock radio. Ms. Castro grew up in the beautiful islands of the Philippines where she achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from a Private Institution located in Manila. It was during her freshmen year in college where her life changed forever. She is eternally grateful to her college professor that ignited that flame of desire for Ms. Castro to enter the modeling world. Ms. Castro walked for some of the top designers located in the Philippines. Her work includes modeling for designers Danté Ramirez, Christian Espiritu, Pitoy Moreno and Santiago de Manila. When international designer Christian Dior decided to expand outside of the fragrance and cos‐metics lines in the Philippines, Ms. Castro was one of the exclusive models chosen to debut his clothing line. This is where her modeling career soared. After her walk with fashion house Christian Dior, she became an exclusive model for the designer and was scouted to model for designers Pierre Cardin and Charles Jordan. Her infamous work with Christian Dior can be seen today at the Christian Dior Museum. Ms. Castro is a mother of 5 boys where she paved the way for her children to model. She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys fine music, beautiful scenery and spending/creating memories with her children.

Her work as a makeup artist is in demand across the indus‐try for print advertising giants like Xerox, Nike, and Qwest, magazine shoots for Vogue Accessories, GQ Italia, and Men’s Fitness, plus celebrity clients such as Jude Law, Laura Linney and Sean Hayes. JUDGE Genevieve Sage grew up in the wilderness of Bel‐lingham, Washington dressing herself and her sisters in her mother’s cast off disco clothes and forcing them down a makeshift runway (an old dock). Since graduating from WWU, she began working as a cos‐tume designer and an editorial stylist (GenArt & Bust maga‐zine) in Los Angeles. She then moved on to work several New York Fashion Week shows as the Lead Collection Coordinator for top international designers Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Rad Hourani and Daniel Vosovic of Project Run‐way All‐Star fame. Claiming her gypsy days are over, she has returned to her roots here in the Pacific Northwest, working for Nordstrom in the Designer Couture department of downtown Portland.

JUDGE Catherine Garvin, is a fashion writer and play‐wright, and writes about National Fashion, Portland Style and Portland Music for Examiner.com. Her fashion video series, “How I Found Myself in Vogue,” recreates million dollar style for the ambitious woman who dresses to daz‐zle at home, work and play right from the closet. She co‐wrote and co‐produced her first musical called, “Fighter Girl The Musical” during the 2010 Fertile Ground Festival and her second play with music, “Emma Lily” had its first public staged reading in October 2011. JUDGE Eileen Celentano began sewing at the age of 9 and has been designing and producing clothing since she was in high school. Her grandmother, a couture seamstress, taught Eileen the value of well crafted and constructed clothing. Living in a creative environment and studying art in Europe were deter‐mining factors in Eileen’s choice for a career in fashion. She has been working in the fashion industry for 20 years. Her experience is diverse, she has developed skiwear, sports‐wear and specialty wear for niche markets. Her experience includes working in theatre as a costume crafts technician and building costumes for film projects. Eileen has been involved in community projects such as the AIDS Project of Los Angeles Benefit and the Polar Fleece Pro‐ject for orphans in Rumania. Her most recent design project has been to develop a line of apparel for women who have had breast cancer surgery and treatments. In addition to her professional work, Eileen has been teach‐ing at colleges and universities for the past 18 years. She is currently teaching at George Fox University.

Mr. Juson works side-by-side with Founder, Tod Foulk and Producer, Jaileene Eubanks and is the son of fashion icon, Ms. Nallie Castro. Jared entered the modeling world during his years at high school, where he honed his craft on the runway. Following his high school years he ventured out into the back end of the modeling world, where he became the suc-cessful national executive director at the infamous Barbizon Modeling School and Agency traveling all over the conti-nental USA. Jared has an eye and gift for beauty which has allowed him to become the successful icon which he is today. Mr. Juson specializes in market-ing and has his finger on the pulse the Portland Market. Outside of fashion world, Mr. Juson runs and owns several business including an event planning, wedding, cosmetic, and novelty company. In his spare time, Jared dances ballroom professionally, en-joys music, fine dining, skiing and spending time with close friends and family.

From there she has been richly blessed to work for the Dis‐ney Chanel, the WB, national Bissell vacuum commercial campaigns, as a stand in for Amanda Seyfried, and several television & film projects here in Portland and Los Angeles. As of recently, she can be found hosting for Earth2world, as well as being the sideline reporter and broadcaster for Oregonsports.com’s Monday Night Minor League Football show. “Working with Semper Fashion since August has been very rewarding” she says. “Meeting new people every day, not only in the fashion industry but just people in general who are passionate about what they love to do is great. DUCER LIDIA COVACI Reduce, reuse, recycle strung together are not just a catchy jingle created by some Madison Ave ad exec to make their green‐washed product more palatable for the actually eco‐conscious consumer, but a way of life my family and I have incorporated for generations. Growing up in the communist country of Romania in the 80's, life was hard and resources scarce. Traveling in the winter from the big city of Bucharest with its bread lines, gasoline lines (if one was lucky enough to even be able to afford a car) and constant fear of persecution where my father was a machinist, to idealistic sum‐mers spent at my great grandmother's country farm in the moun‐tains of Transylvania was an eye opening and life changing experi‐ence. Here in the country people respected the land, nature, helped each other, and either made, bartered, stored, or farmed every‐thing needed for life during the long and harsh winters. Wasting a resource was a sin! When I came to America at age 10, the throw away and dis‐posable lifestyle here was shocking, disgusting, and something I could not even fathom. Where I came from bottles and jars were reused for canning, newspapers held myriads of uses and Lord help us if we left the water running, a light on, or threw anything away‐ things today which I still abhor and are anathema to me. I have carried my strong belief system nurtured as a child to this day, and have become an ecological activist for sustainable fash‐ions and green styling products in my former role as principal and spokesperson for the sustainable fashion event production com‐pany SEMPER Fashion. Besides promoting sustainable and eco‐chic fashions and styling products, and annually producing the fashion and styling ele‐ments for The Better Living Show, each year Tod Foulk and I work with the City of Portland to offset our previous year's carbon foot‐prints with a native tree replanting effort 20 miles east of town in the foothills of the Oregon Cascades. To date we have planted 74 species and nearly 5000 individual trees and shrubs sequestering hundreds of tons of carbon emis‐sions for decades and centuries to come, while contributing to the biodiversity and sustainability of the ecosystem. Something I am proud to do for future generations. Reduce, reuse, recycle is not just a catchy jingle to me, but a way of life I strive to achieve not just for my self but for others.

TIVE PRODUCER Tod Hunter Foulk fell in love with fashion early, when, as the story goes, at age 3 he informed his fashion model grandmother he could dress himself, and promptly came out wearing two of her left high heels, a mink coat and his cow‐boy hat. He is the founder of SEMPER Fashion, Portland Fashion Week Productions LLC, and began his Portland fashion career over a dozen years ago along side his then 7 year old daughter as part‐ners in The DoubleCross Belt CO. where they were some of the first designers to incorporate sustainable practices. He has gone on to produce and advise on well over 100 events including the Lady Gaga Pre Concert Fashion Show, his annual Rock the Runways Fashion Show series, as well as annual fashion shows for EcoPalooza, Weddings of The World, and The Better Living Shows. He has contributed more than two and one half million dollars to the local economy; donated over four tons of food to the Oregon Food Bank; hundreds of pounds of clothing and blankets; over one hundred thousand dollars; and countless hours to local chari‐ties as well as replanting riparian zones in the Johnson Creek and Lower Columbia River watersheds with nearly five thousand in‐digenous trees and shrubs. As a sixth generation Oregonian and third generation Portlander, he was taught and still believes his station in life is to help others and the environment, while of course having as much fun as hu‐manly possible. He is also honored to have made so many friends over the years, a few of whom have become part of the Portland Fashion & Style Awards; and for being able to have contributed so much to so many. When not glued to his computers or telephone producing events, he can be found gardening, enjoying the rivers, bird watching, camping and practicing archery.
