How to know your Soul Purpose

What would it be like, to really know your Soul Purpose? What if you absolutely knew your Soul Purpose to a

high level of detail?

Lets say that you knew with complete certainty that you are a spiritual healer, and that your niche was women

who are contemplating or going through a divorce. You are to deliver your gifts primarily through public

speaking and private healing sessions, and that your first step is to secure local speaking gigs at womens

wellness centers and yoga studios. Then youd book private local clients from those speaking gigs, which

youd use to fund the building of a website. You know exactly what kind of team you need to hire for your

marketing and administration. Your team would help you secure more speaking gigs and start building an

online presence, and you would focus on doing remote healing sessions and group healing sessions at a

national level. Eventually, youd become a published author, leading to speaking engagements at international

wellness conferences.

Because you know without a shadow of a doubt that this is your Soul Purpose, you also know with absolute

certainty that youd be met with success and abundance every step of the way.

Is this the level at which youd like to know your Purpose?

Really?

Because it would make life a foregone conclusion.

Why bother with the experience if you know exactly what will happen?

And yet, it seems that many seekers wish they knew their Soul Purpose, not as a direction in life, but as a

precise plan. Preferably one that comes with an iron-clad guarantee from the Universe that if we follow all the

steps, if we do what were supposed to, well be successful and financially abundant.

Of course, there is no plan. Theres nothing were supposed to do or accomplish.

Our Souls Purpose is to experience its Divinity within its humanity. How we do that is largely left up to

physical circumstance and egoic preference. The Soul merely points us into the direction of its authentic self-

expression. The implementation is up to us.

The key word here is experience.

Were not here to know our Purpose, were here to

experience our Soul Purpose. Because thats how the

Soul experiences its Divinity within this human context.

Imagine if you knew the outcome of your choices. Why

bother making them? Would you want to live a life in

which all consequences were known in advance, where all outcomes were inevitable?

If we knew our Purpose as if it were a plan, we would be robbed of the whole point of incarnation the

human EXPERIENCE.

At all times, we have access to enough information about our Purpose that we have a sense of the direction in

which our Soul longs to experience itself.

Once we know our Souls desired direction, our job is to get on with it. We wont know that were right or

where well end up and thank goodness, because that would literally defeat our Purpose which is

experience. At the same time, the more often you align to your Soul Purpose to a greater level, the more trust

and faith you develop in your sense of direction.

Knowing our Soul Purpose doesnt mean having a plan. It means knowing our very next step, taking that step,

and EXPERIENCING the result.

Ready? Do it.

Ten Surprising Truths About Doing Our Soul Purpose

You would think that once we know our Soul Purpose, everything would be just a walk in the park, right? After

all, its our PURPOSE. Its why our Soul is here! So of course moving into our Soul Purpose will feel really, really

good, right?

Unfortunately no.

Here are ten truths about actually doing our Soul Purpose and they may surprise you!

1. Our Soul Purpose usually scares the crap out of us. In fact, it your Purpose doesnt at least mildly

terrify you, it probably isnt your Soul Purpose.

2. Whether we catch a mere glimpse of our Purpose or grasp the entire vision in one flash of intuitive

brilliance our ego will talk us out of doing our Soul Purpose every chance it gets.

3. We can at all times manage to find fifteen more immediately important things to do than our Soul

Purpose. The ego loves using distraction as a resistance mechanism.

4. We dont feel like doing our Soul Purpose, ever. Your emotions are run by your ego, and if you wait

for your Purpose to feel good, youll be waiting a very long time.

5. The thought of getting started and actually putting our purposeful work out into the world will

frequently lead to curling up on the couch and watching three seasons of Greys Anatomy. The ego is

a master of procrastination.

6. Purpose envy is common. Usually everyone elses Soul Purpose sounds way sexier, cooler, and more

lucrative than our own.

7. Our Divine Gifts seem neither Divine nor like gifts. Surely, since we do this every single day it

cant really be special, right?

8. Moving into our Soul Purpose is way more work than we expect it to be.

9. Even when were doing our Soul Purpose even if were making great money doing it our ego will

still doubt that were REALLY doing our Purpose.

10. Theres always a next level to shifting into your Soul Purpose. Its a process that never ends.

Wow doing our Soul Purpose sounds kind of . hard, huh?

So why do we bother?

Because once we actually manage to get over our egoic resistance and take action in spite of fear and self-

doubt, we find that doing our Soul Purpose is the most fun we can imagine having with our clothes on.

It doesnt seem like it BEFORE we start. Its an experience we only get once we are in the flow of DOING.

Until we get to our next up-level. Then we find ourselves in the next level of egoic resistance. We find

ourselves once again in fear, self-doubt, procrastination, and distraction.

Of course, once youve been through the process of stepping up into the next level of your Soul Purpose three

or four times well, you also know what lies on the other side.

Beginning the journey is the hardest part.

But its your PURPOSE. What else are you going to do?

Is Your Purpose Like A Tomato?

Take just a moment, and think about a juicy, delicious tomato.

Can you almost feel it, see it, taste it? (Bear with me here

this really IS about Purpose!)

Its easy to bring a tomato into your mind, isnt it? With one

flick of your imagination, a tomato appears in your consciousness.

Compare this now to the efort it takes to make an actual, physical tomato manifest.

You have to clear a suitable piece of garden and perhaps prepare the soil. You have to buy tomato seeds and

plant them. You have to water your tomato plants, and put stakes in the ground to help the vines to grow.

Perhaps you have to protect the young tomato plants from bugs and bunnies. Most of all, tomatoes take time

until they are finally ripe and ready to return the nurture that you put into them.

What if we decided after only a few weeks that, obviously, tomatoes just werent going to work for us and

stopped tending our garden? What if we never plant anything because we are hung up on the choice between

heirloom, cherry, or Roma tomatoes? What if we let our doubts and fears sway us within days of planting

tomatoes that, perhaps, zucchini would have been a better choice? What if we planted new seeds on top of old

ones, changing our mind again and again, finally giving up in frustration because gardening just doesnt

work?

Your Soul Purpose is the same way. As highly conscious people, weve become very impatient with this

physical dimension. Its so easy to receive inspiration from the upper-dimensional realms. We have great

vision, inspiration, plans. Up there, in the ether, everything is NOW and requires no efort whatsoever.

But our Purpose needs planting in the physical realm, too. If we want our Divine Gifts to create financial

nurture for us, then we have to carefully water and tend them, and give them time to grow here, in the

physical realm! We have to give seedlings the time to become plants, and give plants the time to begin bearing

fruit. And throughout, our ef

ort is required.

Of course, once we get a garden going, abundance abounds!

Heres how we tend to sabotage our own Divine Abundance:

1. We live in inspiration and vision, and never plant the seeds of our purpose in the physical world.

2. We change our minds about what we are planting, disheartened because we havent seen results

yet, only to try again with new inspiration, new seeds.

3. We do not tend and nurture our garden, and so nothing bears fruit.

Your Purpose cannot create abundance and nurture for you if you never plant it tangibly in the physical

realm.

Is Your Soul Purpose Being Inappropriate?

Theres a funny thing that happens when we refuse to embrace our Soul Purpose. Our purpose will actually

start acting out! Our purpose will, for lack of a productive outlet, become a problem child, misbehave itself,

and seek our attention, even in a negative way.

If we dont DO our Soul Purpose, we may even begin to think of our purpose as something thats wrong with

us.

You simply cant NOT be who you truly are. Even if youve not given your Soul Purpose the opportunity to

make you money, to support you and to serve others, it will assert itself. It is, after all, your Divinity. Its going

to come out and play even when its not appropriate.

Lets say, for example, that at Soul-level, you are energetically designed to be a spiritual teacher. That makes

you gifted in the realm of communication, a natural channel. Your words are a transformational catalyst for

others. And youre probably a pretty darn good marketer and sales person, to boot.

But what if, in real life, youre an accountant? Or a massage therapist? Or a jewelry designer?

Your Soul Purpose is still going to make itself known.

Youll talk a lot. But because these careers dont exactly support lots of communication, youll talk a lot when

youre not working. In fact, youll dominate most conversations with anyone whol listen. Your conversations

will eventually turn into venting your opinions and verbally processing your choices, because words are how

you organize your thoughts and your life. If you do let the other person speak, youll give advice, whether its

wanted or not. Over time, youll feel the need to give advice especially when its NOT wanted because you

give great advice, and you know it. Of course, no-one likes unsolicited advice, but you cant stop yourself

anymore. Over time, youll go from merely opinionated to judgmental. Finally, youll become resentful because

no-one is listening to you when you so obviously know whats best.

Without a productive place for your Divine gift of communication to flourish, the gift becomes a social

dysfunction.

Weve all run into those people who are so desperate for someone anyone! to listen to them that theyll talk

your ear of, given half a chance right?

A few months ago, a friend and I were at a local networking meeting, and an elderly gentleman came up to us

out of nowhere and interrupted our conversation. He immediately began sharing his life story. Then he started

randomly lecturing us, going on and on. Finally, I interrupted, thinking I would try to redirect his rant into an

actual engaging conversation. As soon as I interrupted, he stomped of not giving me a chance to speak,

not willing to listen, never truly engaging.

He was a spiritual teacher without students. Without an appropriate outlet, his gift had turned him into a

harmless but weird and somewhat rude old guy that ranted at total strangers.

Its an extreme example. But NOT doing our Soul Purpose for eighty-five years will create a pretty darn

negative result, because it is a choice against our Divine nature that we make, every single day.

So heres the question for you:

What personality traits and flaws are you currently beating yourself up for?

Where do you think you are a bit dysfunctional or weird? Or maybe simply not normal?

Could it be that your Soul Purpose is making itself known?

If you could think of a way to take whats weird about you and serve others through the dysfunction and

get paid for it what would that look like?

Remember, youre a Divine Being. Theres nothing wrong with YOU, ever. It just may be that you havent

created the circumstances that support your Divinity, your brilliance, your gifts.

Your Divine Purpose is to be who you already are. Its not even possible for you to be anything else. BUT its

up to you to give your Divinity a functional, productive, and revenue-generating outlet within your human

experience!

How To Create Clarity

The search for clarity is obviously the biggest reason people come into my practice for a reading. And it is

certainly helpful to have the big picture of where youre going in your purposeful business!

But theres another path to clarity the path of action. We may not know every little detail of our grand

master plan. We may not know exactly what programs to ofer our clients, we may not know every single

detail about our ideal client, we may not have our perfect marketing cycle put into place.

But generally, we know a little about all of these things. And if were really honest, we usually know enough to

start.

Heres the magic that happens when we start. When we take action even if we do it in a clumsy, unpolished,

imperfect way! when we take action, we actually shift our vibrational state. Thats the magic of new action

it actually shifts who we are Being.

Even if we just go and tell three people about our purposeful business, even if we tell them in a way thats not

even all that precise or efective, weve shifted our vibrational state by taking action.

Of course, if were not communicating

what we do very efectively, or if were not

talking to the right people, this may not

create any external result at all. BUT we

took action, and we shifted our vibrational

state. And now, this shift allows us to

attract a new level of thought.

Every time we take new action, we become

able to attract new thoughts that, before,

we were not even vibrationally able to access. For example, when youre making five thousand dollars a

month, you cant wrap your brain around making sixty or seventy or even a hundred thousand dollars a

month. I knew that six years ago, I couldt even fathom where that kind of money could possibly come from!

If someone six years ago had drawn me a map, had told me what to do my mind would have STILL been

incapable of really grasping those concepts. Why? Because at five thousand dollars a month, were too far

vibrationally removed from the thought forms that create, lets say, a hundred thousand dollars in a month.

Theres too big a vibrational diference, and so we cant quite attract those ideas and concepts, at least not

enough to even remotely put them into action. But at five thousand a month, you can imagine eight, and from

there you can imagine twelve, right? Each income level requires new action, which brings about a shift that

allows us to grasp a new abundance level within our thoughts.

What really makes the diference is taking action. Every single time we take a new action, we shift our

vibrational state into alignment with the next action that will take us towards our goal. And when we take that

action, we shift again, and again well be able to attract new thoughts that will take us still another step closer.

And eventually, were vibrationally close enough to where we are going that we can see the whole big picture

and suddenly, we have clarity.

Sometimes the way to create clarity in our lives is one new action step at a time. So ask yourself if, based on

what you know right now, you could take one new action step today. Even if its an imperfect, unpolished

action step what is one thing you could do to move your purposeful business forward?

If you take that step, you may not immediately get a result. But you will be able to grasp new thoughts, new

ideas .. and so, bit by bit, you will gain clarity. Sometimes the best thing we can do in embracing our purpose

is to just START.

The WORST Question To Ask When You Are Stuck

There is a truly terrible, completely self-defeating question that we often ask ourselves when we are stuck.

And that question is Why?

This question can take a few diferent forms:

Why am I stuck?

Why am I not taking action?

Whats in my way?

Why cant I see my path clearly before me?

Whats stopping me from doing this?

These questions inevitably focus us on THE PROBLEM. And since, through the very nature of this question,

weve told ourselves that there IS, indeed, a problem, our mind will now take it upon itself to go and find us

the problem.

Even if there was no problem at all.

If you ask yourself why youre stuck, then your mind is hard-wired to come up with a reason for the stuck-

ness. And because your mind is also very invested in being right, your reason for being stuck will sound

extremely valid and important.

We might come up with issues from our childhood.

We might come up with past-life events that are blocking us today.

We might come up with problems in our relationships, our business, our health.

Whatever we come up with we will invariably now address the problem, since it is obviously keeping us

stuck.

The thing is now were still stuck, but feeling productive because weve given ourselves a problem to solve.

In other words, weve given ourselves the best, most reasonable excuse in the world to stay exactly where we

are. Weve given ourselves a problem to solve before we can move forward. Convenient, right?

All because we asked ourselves why.

The real answer is actually always the same.

Were stuck because we are not congruent to what we really want. If were doing what we really want (vs. what

we think we should want, or what we think we can have, or what we think would please others, etc.) we dont

have issues with stuckness or indecision or inaction.

What do you really want? What do you want so badly that it will get you ofthe couch, out of your comfort

zone, and into the unknown?

I blame superhero movies, romance novels, and romantic comedies

I blame superhero movies. And romance novels. And romantic comedies.

Heres how the story goes.

An ordinary guy or girl is living an ordinary, or even sub-ordinary existence. Maybe theyre even kind of a

loser by most social standards.

But then, out of nowhere, something amazing happens.

The fairy godmother turns an ordinary girl into a princess. The

radio-active spider turns an ordinary young man into something

powerful. The hot and sexy vampire finds something

mysteriously compelling in a perfectly normal young woman.

The handsome, wealthy business tycoon feels inexplicably

drawn to an ordinary girl.

The format is always the same. Theres nothing unusual about

our main character. But some marvelous external force

whether its a mythical Being or just a really extraordinary

person unveils the unique qualities and strengths that have

remained hidden.

Its a seductive story. And a totally disempowering story at that!

At my recent Abundance Mastery retreat, I asked how many attendees had ever had a very specific secret

fantasy. You know, the fantasy of being chosen by someone famous in our industry to give them a session or

reading or something. In the fantasy, the famous someone is so impressed by our extraordinary and

previously unacknowledged talents that they then immediately promote us to the world, and thus immediately

make us successful, wealthy, and renowned, practically overnight.

Apparently, many of us are waiting to be discovered by Oprah.

And thats the problem. Were waiting.

Were waiting to be uplifted, unveiled, chosen, declared as special.

Were waiting for the fairy godmother, the radio-active spider, the hot and sexy vampire, or maybe were

waiting for Oprah.

Were waiting for someone, or something, to finally come along and convince us that we are, in fact,

extraordinary.

Were going to be waiting for a long, long time. And while were waiting, well probably be watching romantic

comedies, movies about superheroes, and reading romance novels! Because these assure us that, one day, we

will be seen by someone as special.

Oh, and hopefully well be handed a nice short cut to wealth, as well one that bypasses all that pesky hard

work.

Unfortunately, life doesnt work that way. Neither does the Law of Attraction.

There is no outside force that can convince us of our value, our deservingness, our unique and Divine gifts.

Being extraordinary is an inside job.

The Divine already made you a superhero. You were already chosen, at the moment of your inception, as

special, unique, irreplaceable.

Claiming who you are starts on the inside, and continues outward through action that arms the Truth of who

you are.

No outside force can ever override your free will. Thats how amazingly powerful you are! But if you keep

insisting that you are ordinary, the Universe cannot help but agree with you.

Its really up to you. All you have to do is to stop waiting.

Fess up, now. Whats your favorite fantasy of being chosen and declared special by an outside force

whether thats a bunch of highly evolved Beings you channel, or an actual person?

Dysfunction Or Divinity?

Theres a few principles I absolutely live by. One of them is that if were experiencing struggle or lack in any

area of our lives, we are simply not being who we truly are. Our true nature is Divine, after all, and theres

nothing about the Divine that is of struggle and lack. So if were experiencing struggle and lack well, were

not expressing our Divinity.

Simple, right?

Except that our Divine self-expression may look really, really diferent from what most people consider

normal.

Our Divine self-expression may even look downright eccentric, weird, and dysfunctional to others.

Thats because we are unique Beings, individually crafted to be utterly unlike each other, like Divine

snowflakes.

Which throws all concepts of normal right out the window.

So why do so many of us work so hard at pretending to be normal? Why do we still strive so hard to uphold

the societal conventions around family,

marriage, relationships, parenting,

education, and holidays?

Why are we still looking for the right way

to do anything, when there is just OUR

way, which by the virtue of our Divinity,

cant look like anyone elses way?

The Truth is that our Divine self-

expression can appear very weird to others. It may also be highly inconvenient for other people, and may

make them very uncomfortable. Theres a reason were taught to fit in, to conform to societys ideals, until we

realize that this path leads to well, struggle and lack. But then again, everyone else is in struggle and lack,

and so a life of abundance would not be normal, right?

Just this week, I was told I was irrational. From my perspective, Im simply both psychic and very decisive. I

know what I know, and Im not going to pretend that I dont know what I know, just to make someone else

more comfortable.

Im also a hermit. Call me crazy, but to me theres nothing more wonderful than an empty house. I dont care

that its a six thousand square foot house I still love being the only one in it. Especially first thing in the

morning. Waking up to the peace and serenity of solitude is something Im profoundly grateful for.

Is my love of solitude dysfunctional? I guess that depends on what we define as functional to begin with.

Heres two really, really great ways you can tell your dysfunction apart from your Divine self-expression.

#1. When you are expressing your Divinity, you will experience abundance, and that includes financial

abundance. So go ahead, look at your bank account. If you dont like what you see, you might want to

embrace your inner weird, eccentric, dysfunctional Self and let it have a party. You may find that your income

goes up and youll have more fun, too.

#2. When you are expressing your Divinity, you will find fulfillment and joy. Unfortunately, lots of us highly

conscious folks have learned to disassociate from our physical circumstances and we can now efectively talk

ourselves into being happy, regardless of our third-dimensional reality. So lets qualify: You will find

fulfillment and joy within your actual real-life circumstances within your environment, your relationships,

your work, your physical body.

Remember what is dysfunctional for you may be Divine for the next person. So come on grab a note pad

and ask yourself what you dare not choose to do because you dont want to be perceived as weird. Let your

freak flag fly. Abundance will follow.

Chasing Money and Life Purpose

From time to time, I answer reader questions that come to me via my website. My thanks to Michaelle for the

following question:

I have been on a long path, but I am still searching for my life purpose, I know i am suppose to help

people somehow, but I am not finding the way to make it happen, I have been chasing money most of

my life, well I discovered the reason why not too long ago, my father told me to look for a job when I

was 11 years old, and that I have learned enough. Now that I realized that I was chasing money, I am

still not able to make it, why not??? I feel that the entrepreneur in me now really wants out, I am trying

but I feel block, I really dont know what to do next, any insight?

Sometimes the matter of money actually blinds us to our Soul Purpose. In our hearts, we all know at least a

small part of what were here to be and do all of us have enough information to at least take ONE STEP

towards doing our Purpose.

So separate the money from the question of Soul Purpose for a moment.

If you never had to make a dime, if money were not in the picture at all what is the most fun, cool,

enjoyable, juicy way you can imagine serving people?

You have a magical wand and can put yourself into any situation you want in which youre serving others

what are you doing?

Sometimes it helps to imagine borrowing someone elses life for a day

would you want to be Oprah for a day? Tony Robbins? Andrew Weill? Or

even someone you know and admire personally, whos not famous?

Remove money from the picture completely and be very honest with

yourself. The answer may seem unrealistic and unattainable from where

you are right now and thats okay.

Now that you have a general direction all you need is ONE step into that

direction. Because, really, all you can take is ONE step at a time. And

while you may have NO idea at this point how you could ever make

enough money at that thing you just came up with thats probably not

the first step, anyway.

Sometimes we need a bit more education. Sometimes

we need a simple way to just START. And since you

have a history of chasing money, its probably a good

idea to leave money out of the equation for just this first

step.

Usually, what we dont see immediately see is how we

can ever replace income from our day job, or support

ourselves and thats okay, too. Because a full-time income is probably ten or twenty steps further down the

road, and we cant see that far ahead yet! But we dont really need to. All we need is to trust our Soul, and

take one step.

You wont get a guarantee beyond the desire thats in your heart.

But if you take just that one step forward, the next step WILL reveal itself! Thats how we move into our Soul

Purpose. One step at a time!
