HOW TO USE

PICMONKEY

I was thinking about my third VA

assignment..

..When in one of Jomar Hilario’s

webinars..

..the speaker talked about one of

the tools..

..that will help a newbie become a

sought-after VA..

She mentioned PICMONKEY, so

let’s try this out!

Type in PICMONKEY on your

browser.

Click on that link. No need to sign

up.

Then the web page appears..

There are four menus to choose

from.

Hover over the FIRST : EDIT

MENU

Choose photos to edit from any of

the choices below.

Let’s get a photo from my

computer.

A photo from my personal files..

Click on OPEN.

There goes my only two

possessions…

You’ll see EDIT tools on the left

sidebar. Let’s CROP.

Drag the mouse to the desired size.

As you drag the mouse, the size

also changes.

Or use the dropdown arrow and

choose the size.

Click to APPLY the changes.

And it’s cropped..

• From this… … to this.

Now let’s try on EXPOSURE.

Adjust the light exposure any way

you like.

And see how it changed..

From this.. ..to this!

And they liked that!

Let’s choose another photo from

facebook.

You’ll be asked to connect to your

facebook account.

Fill in your facebook details.

Then log in..

From the list of photos, pick one.

Then click OPEN..

The photo is now displayed.

Try to change the COLORS.

Adjust the colors as desired.

Don’t forget to click APPLY.

Save if there are no other changes.

This will appear. We can name the

file.

Save this to my computer.

We can save to my computer file.

And it’s done!

We can share the edited photo.

On the side bar, choose where you

will share.

Let’s share it to facebook.

Then just DO IT!

Click on that link.

This will appear. Click on facebook

icon below.

On the facebook page, the photo

will appear.

Click on SHARE.

And the photo will be posted on

facebook.

To return to PICMONKEY page,

click DONE.

Or just click on the PICMONKEY

page you opened.

And you’ll see again the EDIT

options.

Try the MAGIC WAND for effects.

Scroll down to see different options.

How about some SPOTLIGHT?

Use these sliders to give her the

spotlight.

Happy with that? Then click on

APPLY.

She’s now on the SPOTLIGHT!

EXCITING! Let’s get some

RADIANCE!

Use these sliders to get effects.

I like this! Click on APPLY.

A cute radiant girl!

Let’s try OVERLAYS. Scroll down

for options.

Click on CHICK ‘N EGGS.

Choose any of the options.

Place the image on the photo.

The OVERLAY box also appears.

Choose the color of the image.

We can add some BUTTERFLIES.

Place them as desired.

Color the BUTTERFLIES.

And she’s now playing with friends!

I’m enjoying this!

Let’s open a new photo to edit from

my facebook.

Select one.

And the new photo will appear.

From OVERLAYS option, scroll

down to choose shapes.

We can choose YOUR OWN styles from your files.

From my own files, I chose a photo

from iPad.

Click on OPEN.

And that’s … ME!

To make my photo appear..

..like it’s part of the new photo..

..use the ERASER..

.. and adjust the eraser size..

..to erase the background. Go on

erasing until..

..it looks like I’m tree planting here!

Be careful that you don’t erase the

good parts.

When that happens, just click

UNDO.

ZOOM IN to see the details closer

to erase.

When you’re done, click on the

COMBINE menu..

..So the photo sticks and can’t be

moved.

Go on and have some fun around

other OVERLAYS graphics.

Continue to play around other

FREE options.

When you click on options with that

LITTLE CROWN below..

That’s the ROYALE feature. You

can’t use that unless you upgrade.

We can also create nice facebook

cover photos, like this.

That’s the second MENU :

DESIGN. Hover over the icon.

Choose FACEBOOK COVER.

This will appear.

Choose OVERLAYS.

Select SPARKLE STARS.

Choose the theme from the

choices.

Place it on the layout.

The OVERLAY BOX also appears.

Drag the mouse to the desired size.

Choose the color for the stars.

Let’s have two colors.

Choose HARDLIGHT MODE to

brighten up the stars.

They will appear nicely.

Let’s add some BUTTERFLIES..

..and let them fly over there..

Let’s go to TEXTURES.

Choose SPACE.

Click on one of the themes. That

fits nicely there.

Adjust the sliders to change the

saturation.

Click on dropdown arrow for

BLEND MODE.

Choose MULTIPLY for the effects.

Then click on APPLY.

We need to add texts. Click on

TEXT.

Choose the text font.

Click on ADD TEXT.

Place the text box as desired.

Click on the text box…

..and type your text message.

Place the text on your desired

position.

Choose the font color from the text

box.

Choose MULTIPLY blend mode.

We’re almost done! Let’s save this!

You’ll see this. Let’s give our file a

name.

We’ll save it to my computer.

Save it here.

DONE!

To upload this cover photo, go to

your facebook page.

Click on the CAMERA ICON.

Click on UPLOAD PHOTO.

Go to your saved file.

Then click OPEN.

This will be uploaded here.

Click on SAVE CHANGES.

And there’s our new FACEBOOK

COVER!

So how do you like PICMONKEY?

Let’s get to the THIRD MENU –

hover over COLLAGE.

As with the EDIT menu, I chose

photos from facebook.

The photos are now displayed on

the side board.

Drag the photos to the lay out plan.

Click on X to remove the image.

Drag the mouse to the left..

..or to the right to position the

photo.

This appears when you..

Drag to the left.. and right..

To continue, click on LAYOUTS.

When you see this, click on the

desired layout.

We’ll try the CARDS. Pick out any

design.

The new layout appears.

To edit the photo, click on EDIT.

Edit the exposure..

..to brighten up the image.

Click on BACKGROUND.

Choose the background color.

Adjust the SPACING between

photos.

Adjust the CORNER ROUNDING.

Save the photo.

Choose a file name.

Then SAVE.

Click on dropdown arrow and

choose where to save.

Let’s save to MY COMPUTER.

Click on SAVE.

We can EDIT and add some stuff.

You will see this..

If you click on this..

You will return to the EDIT MENU.

Then we’re done!

Wait! There’s still the last TOUCH

UP MENU!

The LIPSTICK tool, a cool feature

for faces..

I opened this beautiful face from my

computer.

Scroll down for the options.

Try BLUSH BOOST.

Choose the BRUSH SIZE.

Play around the BLUSH COLORS.

Then APPLY.

See the changes..

Before blush boost.. And after..

Try on the LIP TINT tools.

Adjust the brush size.

To erase, just click on the ERASE

tool.

Adjust the ERASER SIZE.

Then erase the lip color..

Until the lip tint disappears.

Or just cancel. It works the same.

But let’s try again the lip tint

options.

Apply the lipstick on..

Click on APPLY.

And you’ll get this.Look at those

pouting lips.

We’re finally done!
