16 May 2017 Licensing Unit Sefton MBC Magdalen House 30 Trinity Road Bootle, L20 3NJ Dear Sirs Gambling Act 2005: 19 Liverpool Road, Birkdale, Southport As a councillor for the area and also as a resident living on the outskirts of Birkdale Village myself I wish to lodge an objection to the granting of a Gambling Premise Licence at the above location. This is on the grounds of the adverse impact on the third licensing objective:

Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

This location is in the very centre of Birkdale Village which includes, very close by, a number of shops which are attractive to children and young people. Accordingly I feel that it is an inappropriate location for a betting shop.
