Local Couple Purchases Power Pac Inc.
Ownership of Power Pac Inc. officially changed hands in early July as Josh and Mandy Witt of Marshfield pur-chased the company from Mike Trulen.
The couple, native to Marshfield, look forward to continuing the legacy that was built by the Trulens over the last 55 years.
Power Pac Inc., a powersports and equipment dealership, was established in 1963 by Mike Trulen's father, Sid Trulen, and sold mainly Scorpion snowmobiles. Mike took over ownership of the dealership in 1976 and grew the business by adding brands such as John Deere, Polaris, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and STIHL.
Mike's vision for the company included being a source of support for the local community. Power Pac is a sponsor and contributor to a number of local charities and events.
Trulen didn't make the decision to sell the business lightly and wants to ensure the transition is as smooth as pos-sible for customers and employees. He will consult through the end of 2018. Josh joined the Power Pac team as the company's general manager in March to familiarize himself with the business and is no stranger to dealership management having spent the last nine years in the ag dealership industry.
"We intend to keep the core values of Power Pac Inc. in place including the dedication to customer service." "This has been a family business since day one and we want to continue the legacy and hope to pass the business to our own children someday," Josh said.
Congratulations Josh and Mandy! Enjoy retirement Mike and Cheri!

UW System restructuring is given seal of approval by the Higher Learning Commission...Two-year UW campuses join four-year receiving institutions as branch campuses
The University of Wisconsin System's plan to restructure UW Colleges and UW-Extension has been officially approved by the Higher Learning commission (HLC).
Effective July 1, the 13 two-year campuses formerly known as UW Colleges will be joined as branch campuses with seven of the UW System's four-year comprehensive or research institutions. Accreditation, administrative oversight, and reporting structures also formally transfer on July 1.
The official letter from the Higher Learning Commission stated: "The Board approved the extension of accreditation related to the application wherein University of Wisconsin Colleges' branch campus-es are distributed among seven institutions within the University of Wisconsin System, with University of Wiscon-sin Colleges ceasing to operate as an independently accredited instituion and its former branch campuses becoming branch campuses of University of Wisconsin universities...and wherein the University of Wisconsin-Extension, a non-accredited entity with the University of Wisconsin System, is dissolved as a separate operational unit, with certain other University of Wisconsin universities adding components of the dissolved unit's operations within their respective operations."
The UW System Board of Regents unanimously approved the proposed restructuring in December 2017. UW System formally submitted its application to restructure to the Higher Learning Commission on January 16, 2018 and the HLC approved the application on June 28, 2018. The UW System has been working closely with UW Col-leges, UW-Extension, and the four-year UW receiving institutions to ensure a smooth transition for students and employees. Restructuging is expected to take place in two phases over the next two years. During Phase 1 (July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019), the two-year campuses will continue to function largely as they do now, while preparing to internally integrate administrative functions. During Phase 2 (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020), the receiving institutions will more fully integrate the two-year campuses. For more information regarding the Restructuring Project, visit: wisconsin.edu/uw-restructure/
Mid-State student earns silver medal at national SkillsUSA competitionRecent Mid-State Technical College graduate Dan Zdroik, Stevens Point, earned national recognition at the 54th annual 2018 SkillsUSA® Championships held in June. Zdroik was among 6,000 students in the annual workforce development event, which showcases career and technical education. To qualify for a spot in the national competition, competi-tors need to be first-place finishers in their events at the state competition. Student par-ticipation at this year's was supported by a donation from the Central WI Metal Manufac-
turers Alliance (CWIMMA), a voluntary organization of manufacturers in the welding, machining, fabrication and other advanced metal manufacturing industries. CWIMMA is also partnering with Mid-State to launch and fund Metal Mania at the college this summer. This 8-week program allows high school sophomore, juniors, and seniors as well as adults interested in exploring a career as a machinist to take courses in machine tool, print reading, and solid modeling and receive eight transferable college credits.
To learn more about Mid-State's programs and services, please call 888-575-6782 or visit the college's website at www.mstc.edu.

Health In Motion, 204 North Central AvenueHealth In Motion started over 23 years ago (formerly Spine & Sport Physical Therapy Specialists). They have grown to seven locations across Central and Northern Wisconsin. They started the name change process a little over a year ago about the time they purchased the Antigo location (formerly Antigo
Total Therapy & Rehab Cen-ter). The names of all seven locations were changed to avoid confusion but most importantly to better depict what they do. They work on the entire muscular skeletal system not just spine and athletes.
These are independent outpatient clinics owned and operated by thera-pists. Their therapists are experts at assessing movement, easing pain, and empowering you to optimize function. Health In Motion knows solving your pain problem may take more than just one type of treat-ment. This is why they artfully combine the treatment of spinal manip-ulation, corrective exercise, nervous system re-education, trigger point dry needling, tool assist soft tissue manipulation, and joint mobilization to get your life back. No referral needed! They offer FREE 15 Minute Screenings - with no obligation.
Simplicity Credit Union’s Mortgage Center, 103 South Central AvenueSince 1949, when the 13 original members had nothing but a shoebox and the crazy idea to start a credit union to serve the families of Saint John’s Church, to today where they serve more than 24,000 of the fine folks in Central Wisconsin, Simplicity Credit Union has always been a team of passionate credit union believers who work together to help their friends and neighbors realize their dreams.
Most importantly, they love turning new friends into members of the Simplicity family and seeing where they can go together! Stop in anytime and check out the Mortgage Center’s new home in the historic Thomas House building, in downtown Marshfield!

MARSHFIELD AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY
MARSHFIELD AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY
Wenzel Family Plaza, 200 Block of South Chestnut Avenue
The Wenzel Family Plaza will create a centerpiece for the community in the core of downtown Marshfield. This multi-use centerpiece will provide a year round gathering space for the community, a place for the arts, events, families, lunch hour gatherings, relaxatio, and entertain-ment. Some of the features and uses include a performance stage for outdoor concerts, a visually appealing water feature for kids to cool off on the hot summer days, dining and seating areas, parking for the plaza and the surrounding downtown area, outdoor farmers markets, a large recreation area and much more.
The Wenzel Family Plaza is an excellent example of a successful public-private partnership project. Many gen-erous donors, including Russell R. Wenzel Public Park Fund and Harry J. and Violet Wenzel family, Everett & Dolores Roehl, Nelson-Jameson, Marshfield Clinic Health System, Security Health Plan, Staab Construction Corp., David & Tammy Meissner, Forward Bank, How-ard family, Simplicity Credit Union, Arlan & Priscilla Ferch family, the City of Marshfield Economic Develop-ment Board, Wisconsin Economic Development Corpo-ration, Marshfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, City of Marshfield, Main Street Marshfield, Marshfield Area Community Foundation, The Boson Company, Marsh-field Monument, as well as many other local businesses and residents, came together to help fund this project.
After Hours Bar & Grill, 114 E 14th St Chris and Cassi started this journey on July 15, 2017. Owning a bar had been a dream of Cassi’s and when the opportunity came around, with the support of her hus-band and family, she got to chase her dream. They have friendly staff and great food! Enjoy a fish fry on Fridays with daily food and drink specials throughout the week. Occasionally there is a DJ or small band for entertain-ment.
Their hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 a.m. and Sundays 12 p.m.-10 p.m.

Welcome MACCI New Hire!
Your Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry is excited to welcome Meranda Lelonek to the MACCI team. Meranda started in July as the Communications Administrative/Coordinator. She is that friendly voice on the phone when you call and she is eager to greet and meet each of you when you visit your Chamber. She brings cre-ativity and fresh ideas to this role.
She and her husband Rick relocated here from Minnesota and are in the process of moving into their recently purchased home. Rick has been employed at Custom Fabricating & Repair since last September and is very happy to have his fam-ily in Marshfield.
Meranda has a very diverse background but most recently brings experience from working at a Jennie-O® store. She is a very busy mom of seven children and looks forward to getting them into our great school system and acclimated into various activities.
Stop in and introduce yourself or welcome her when you call.
