October 2017

From our Moderator,

Over the past two years, I have been so honored to be the Moderator of the Little River

Baptist Association. It very quickly turned into more of a job than I expected when

Brother Dan originally approached me in 2015 about serving in this capacity and as I

found myself doing things I never dreamed of doing and learning things only a few are

privileged to know. I have come to know and appreciate all of you who serve so freely,

giving of your time and energy that God’s work may be done in LRBA, and indeed the

world. I also gained a renewed appreciation of how much Alice Davis freely does and

how much she loves this association, its people and the God we serve. Finally, through

it all I have come to understand the importance of what we do together through the Lit-

tle River Baptist Association.

We serve a great God who loves and has honored us by calling us into His service. As

we enter a new era in our association, it is my prayer that you will continue to seek and

follow His will. That you will continue to work as one in Christ toward the goal of

building His kingdom. That our God will continue to bless the churches, the pastors and

the people who comprise the Little River Baptist Association.

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your moderator. I also thank those individuals

from around the state who warmly accepted me as one of their own. Finally, I thank

the good people of North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church for permitting me to service in

this capacity knowing that at times it would draw me from the church. Thank you once

again and may God richly bless you in the days ahead.

Pastors’ Appreciation Month

A pastor is a loving man, trying to lead with a gentle hand. He loves the Lord with all his heart, giving his life, this love to impart.

I write this poem so all may know that a pastor’s will is Christ’s love to show. To the men who tend us and guard the gates, we wish to thank and lovingly appreciate. - a sheep -
