From the P.R.A.Y. President and CEO Dear Friends of P.R.AY.,
2017-2018 was indeed a memorable and busy year for P.R.A.Y. Over the course of twelve
months the staff and leadership had opportunities to connect with volunteers and young
Christians in meaningful ways. Through national opportunities with American Heritage Girls,
Boy Scouts of America, and Girl Scouts of the USA, our time on the road and in front of friends
like you was invaluable. The stories you shared of growth and compassion were truly
inspirational and motivating in our daily work.
This past year P.R.A.Y. shared meeting tables and booth space with the Association of African
Methodist Episcopal Scouters, Association of Baptist Scouters, The Brotherhood of Saint
Andrew, Disciples of Christ Scouters, General Commission on United Methodist Men’s Center
for Scouting Ministry, National Association of Presbyterian Scouters, and National Lutheran
Association on Scouting. It was impressive to witness the collection of volunteers who tirelessly
work to connect their faith tradition to young women and men. Thank you for coming
alongside us. Some of the highlights include:
July 2017: The BSA National Jamboree, The Summit, West Virginia. Nearly 30,000 young
people explored the Faith and Beliefs area to learn about the religious emblems of
their own tradition and the traditions of others. P.R.A.Y. supported all of our partners
and was on site for the event.
October 2017: GSUSA’s G.I.R.L. National Convention, Columbus, Ohio. 20,000 plus Girl
Scouts and volunteers gathered to learn about new initiatives including faith-based
collaborations with P.R.A.Y. and its partners. The National Interfaith Committee met
for the first time since 2015.
June 2018: AHG Inspire Leadership Conference, Saint Louis, Missouri. 7,000 AHG Leaders
spent the days in session connecting their faith and engaging peers in Christian
program delivery. P.R.A.Y. enjoyed our time in the midway and the first opportunity
to preview Jesus and Me.
Relationships with volunteer youth associations and agencies are critical to our ministry.
Without religious advancement components, faith can get lost in program delivery. P.R.A.Y. is
so grateful for the emphasis on this work and the trust given to administer those programs
and relationships. Our work together is truly a blessing.
Last year P.R.A.Y. reported on the development of new programs and volunteer engagement.
Within this report you will find information on the new K-1 program Jesus and Me and the
growth of the RP3 Bible Basics series - both of which were driven with incredible writers, artists,
reviewers and clergy; all volunteers. As we continue to evaluate our materials and programs it
is comforting to know that there are quality, passionate Christians willing to share their wisdom
and expertise.
Thank you for partnering with us in our ministry to children, youth, and families. We are
pleased to present to you, our shareholders in Christian development, P.R.A.Y.’s 2017-2018
Annual Report.

that young children can see Jesus in
their own day-to-day experiences,
i.e. as storyteller, teacher, friend, and
healer. The curriculum utilizes the
“Jesus Scroll Craft,” a hands-on
component that builds from lesson
to lesson and helps children tell
their story of Jesus and me togeth-
er. Recognizing that parents and
guardians are responsible for the
faith development of their children,
The Bible Basics RP3 Series has
expanded in two different ways.
First, the series has grown with
the addition of two new patches:
“Wind of the Spirit” and “Trees.”
Second, the series has grown with
the addition of new volunteer
writers. Thanks to Krissy Richard-
son, Children’s Ministry Director
of Grace Baptist Church in War-
ren, OR and Troop Shepherd for
AHG Troop OR3130, for investing
in the P.R.A.Y. ministry and creat-
ing the “Trees” patch.
The RP3 series is designed to teach
Bible STORIES and how to do Bible
STUDY. Participants READ the Bible
to PICTURE, PONDER, AND PUT IT
INTO ACTION. Each patch focuses
on one object in the Bible. New
patches and new volunteer writers
will be added every year.
Special thanks to our sponsors:

late wife Chaplain Yolanda Mallette),
and Mark and Debra Hazlewood (in
honor of the Emeriti Members of the
P.R.A.Y. Board of Directors).
the Jesus and Me program re-
quires their participation and en-
courages parent-child interaction.
According to P.R.A.Y. CEO Jason
Noland, “We believe Jesus and Me will strengthen
scouting ministries
across the country. It fits seamlessly into
our current series, and
yet stands apart to
usher in a new strate-
gy moving forward.
Special thanks to our
team: Rev. Patrice L.
Rosner, Rev. Mary
Beene, Jacqueline
McNamer, Rev. Douglas J. Stew-
art, Rev. Pat Winston, and Heidi
Stiles. You have our gratitude for
a job well done!”
Much of 2017-2018 was focused
on the creation of the new K-1
curriculum Jesus and Me and the
implementation of CEO Jason
Noland’s vision of an interdenom-
inational volunteer
team encompassing
curriculum writers,
artists, and content
reviewers. This team
has been both effec-
tive and impressive.
Jesus and Me will be
a watershed piece
and will set the tone
for future revisions of
the current series.
Jesus and Me continues P.R.A.Y.’s
legacy of providing strong Bible-
based Christian education and
discipleship resources. This pro-
gram introduces Jesus as the Son
of God but in familiar terms so

PRAY Program Usage The P.R.A.Y. Program is used by the denominations as a religious growth series and discipleship program for
children, youth and families, and also as an outreach tool to the Scouting families in their communities.
Part of P.R.A.Y.’s mission is encouraging churches to partner with national youth agencies. Not only do children and
youth benefit from these partnerships, the congregation itself can become stronger. Here are the P.R.A.Y. usage
figures broken out by denomination and also youth agency:

”I heard about your RP3 patches from my sister (who is also in-volved with Christian Education.). We did the RP3 lessons in our Sunday school and the kids liked them a lot! Our attendance started out with 4 children and grew to 10-15 children every week! We also offered a God and Me class. Not only did we have 5 Cub Scouts earn their awards, we also had one of the families join our church as a result of the program. So, clearly, we love all your prod-ucts!

“The lesson on prayer was phenomenal. Kids are taught very young that God loves them, sent
His Son for our sins, and how to live for Christ, but very rarely have I seen programs designed
to help kids learn how to communicate with God.”
Brian David (God and Me Counselor)
Lutheran Swansboro United Methodist Church
Swansboro, NC
”This program has made me slow down and take the time to talk with my family about God …
my kids have also challenged me to get our family into church more.”
Lawrence McKee (parent of God and Me recipient)
Apex United Methodist Church
Apex, NC
”[The God and Church program] was our Presbyterian confirmation class … The curriculum is
designed in such a way that it leads the youth through thoughtful review of their faith while
learning about their church. It helps the young people become more involved in the church
and in Christian activities.”
Rev. John Manon (God and Church Counselor)
West Newton United Presbyterian Church
West Newton, PA
“The “Call of Paul” curriculum encourages participants to read the Bible, to consider what the
call of God means, and to apply basic Christian principles to everyday living. Good emphasis
on faith in Jesus Christ and service to others.”
Rev. Chris Curry (God and Life Counselor)
Jackson United Methodist Church
Jackson, LA
“I have taught God and Me, God and Family, and God and Church. I will be teaching a God
and Life class in the fall. All four programs provide a wonderful opportunity for youth to learn
so much about God, become closer to him and build a strong foundation of faith that will last
a lifetime. To those who were and are a part of creating and maintaining these programs, you
have my heartfelt thanks and gratitude! ”
