6Take piece 8, as shown in thephoto (right, above), and with

fast-drying glue fix piece 7 in thelarge cavity – the holes must betowards the bottom. Insert pieces6 in the holes of piece 7, as shownin the photo (right, below), and fixthem with fast-drying glue. Youhave now made the anti-aircraftguns with shielding.

5Checking against Step 6, insertpiece 7 into piece 8. If it is

difficult to fit, smooth the edgesof piece 7 with the metal file.

4In case of unwanted holes orhollows on the surface, fill

them by applying putty with awooden spatula. Push the puttyto the bottom of the cavity and, once dried, smooth withsandpaper grain no. 800 toremove any excess.

12Checking against Steps 14and 15, join pieces 4 and 5

to piece 2. If there is a gapbetween the pieces, adjust thecircular cavity of pieces 4 and 5with the round metal file.

7From a distance of 30cm, spraymetal primer evenly on the

anti-aircraft guns with shielding. It is easier if you secure them oncardboard with double-sidedadhesive tape.

10Smooth pieces 2, 3, 4 and 5,using the metal file to remove

any irregularity in shape.

11Smooth pieces 2, 3, 4 and 5with sandpaper grain no.

800, taking care not to alter theoriginal shape. In case of unwantedholes or hollows on the surface, correct them, as usual, by applyingputty.

9When the anti-aircraft guns withshielding are completely dry,

paint the small cavities by mixingthe two watercolours matt black andbattleship grey in a ratio of 1 to 2.

14Similarly, fix piece 5 on theopposite side of piece 2.

Align the edges of pieces 4 and 5using a ruler, as shown in thephoto.

13Place piece 2 as shown inthe photo and fix piece 4

on the right-hand side with fast-drying glue. Assemble thetwo pieces with the bottomsurfaces level.

15In the joins between piece2 and pieces 4 and 5,

insert putty with a woodenspatula. Push it fully into thecavity and, when it is dry, smooth with sandpaper grainno. 800 to remove any excess. You have now made the base ofthe rear secondary guns.

16With the craft knife, cutthe joins of the pieces of

board 1. Separate all the pieces 1,from A to E, and smooth the cutswith the metal file.

8When the metal primer is dry, spray a light and even coat of

battleship grey from about 30cm.Repeat several times and fromdifferent angles.

When using metal primer, ventilate the room well and followthe instructions on the packaging.

18Cut piece 1E with the craftknife around the edges of the

pieces 1C and 1D. The pieces 1Cwill form the grilles of the air ductsA, while pieces 1D will be the grillesof air ducts B.

17With fast-drying glue, fix thetwo pieces 1C and the two

pieces 1D on the four corners of thesurface of piece 1E, in the positionshown in the photo. Do not use toomuch glue; just take a little with thetip of the craft knife and apply it tothe pieces.

21Fix the grilles of the air ductson a wooden stick with

double-sided adhesive tape and paintthe mesh side with a mixture of mattblack and battleship greywatercolours in a ratio of 1 to 2.

23Take piece 3, as shownin the photo, and paint

the round holes with battleshipgrey watercolour.

22With the fast-dryingglue, fix pieces 1B on

the mesh side of the grilles ofthe air ducts A and pieces 1Aof air ducts B. You have nowmade air ducts A and B. Whenthe glue is dry, paint withbattleship grey watercolour.

20When the metal primer is dry, spray a light and even coat of

battleship grey from approximately30cm. When the paint is dry, repeatseveral times from various angles.

19From a distance of 30cm,spray the metal primer evenly

on the grilles of the air ducts, onpieces 1A and 1B, on the base ofrear secondary guns and on piece 3.It helps if you first secure the pieceson cardboard with double-sidedadhesive tape, as shown in thephoto.

24Take the base of the rearsecondary guns 2 and,

with fast-drying glue, fix the airducts A on the side of pieces 4and 5, as shown in the photo. The lower edge of each air ductshould be 1.5mm from thebottom of pieces 4 and 5.

25On the opposite side ofpieces 4 and 5, fix the air

ducts B, as shown in the photo(right, above). The lower edge ofeach air duct should be 1.5mmfrom the bottom of pieces 4 and5. With fast-drying glue, fix piece3 in the centre of the upper partof piece 2, as shown in the photo(right, below).
