The R2L NextGen program provides Latino high school students the chance

to spend a week in Washington, D.C., exploring the city and the role it

plays in our nation’s past, present, and future.

While in Washington, students will get the

chance to:

★ Visit historic monuments and sites in the

nation’s capital

★ Interact with prominent national Latino

leaders

★ Tour Capitol Hill

★ Meet with Members of Congress

★ Learn how the political process works

★ Explore museums

difference in their community

across the country

★ Become a lifelong member of the CHCI

Alumni Association

The program is completely free of charge to

students. Travel, lodging, meals and activities

will all be covered through the support of State

Farm®, regional fundraising, and CHCI.

“The R2L NextGen program provided me with a unique

and enriching experience in the realm of civic engagement

that I couldn’t have received in any other place. The

program tested my boundaries by exposing me to areas

outside of my comfort zone and provided me with

guidance and assurance that I could do greater things.”
