1. PRESENTATION OF THE COUNTRY • Burundi is a country between East Africa and Central
Africa
• It shares a border to the north with Rwanda, to the South and the East with Tanzania and in the West with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
• It’s area is 27,834 km2
• The population is estimated at 11 495 438 inhabitants in 2017
• Developing country

5. PERSPECTIVES
Establishment of multisectoral steering committees for the strategy
at all levels (National, Provincial and Communa);
Establishment of multisectoral technical committees for the
implementation of the strategy at all levels (National, Provincial and
Communal);
Burundi's participation in the International Health Network in all
policies
Organization of a national strategy launch conference coupled with
a Resource Mobilization Round Table for the implementation of the
strategy.

6. CONCLUSION
⮚To improve the health of the people of Burundi, the entire Government
and its Development Partners are called to engage in an innovative
strategy based on the social determinants of health to ensure access to
health services in Burundi. population and the reduction of inequalities
because health is everyone's business;
⮚The entire Burundian population in general and all the leaders of the
different sectors of the national life in particular are called to appropriate
this strategy which gives them the means to assure a greater control on
their own health, and to improve them because health is a resource of
everyday life, and to work in synergy to achieve better health and
economic and social well-being.
