ABOUT US

Impulse Modena Racing is the Moto Student Electric Team of Modena and Reggio Emilia University.

The project arises from the will to produce a racing electric motorcycle, exploiting and increasingly improving multidisciplinary skills learned in view of the future market.

As it has been planned, the project provides an important occasion of professional development towards the innovation, even in the emerging industry of electric motorcycles, an unparalleled experience in Italy.

THE TEAM

After a deep selection carried out among more than 120 candidates, our team consists of 30 students from various faculties of Modena and Reggio Emilia University.

The team is set up by different divisions, each with specific tasks and objective to achieve, which collaborate together actively and sinergistically.

MISSION E VISION

“Our mission is to create a fixed substructure of research and development in the electric motorcycle industry and represent the basic study for the vehicle of the future”

During the planning phase we will adopt all the technical and administrative choices in order to build a lightweight racing motorcycle.

It is an ambitious and innovative project, as we will study and develope all the emerging contents related to the “electric motorbike” dream, adopting the skills acquired directly from the races, where the best performances are required.

THE COMPETITION

At its fifth edition, the Moto Student is a competition that gathers worldwide university teams.

The goal for the students is to adopt the knowledge acquired during their studies in a real motorcyclist project.

WHY ELECTRIC?

Electric is the future: the key for the success is to face a forward-looking and complex challenge.

Our project, which arises from the sporting spirit, promotes a different transportation system, which will improve the relationship between man and the enviroment.

First steps achieved

Thanks to the collaboration with AgioMetrix, we have totally recreated in 3D the frame, the swingarm and the whole motorbike. This will be very important for the study of the frame and the aerodynamic of the motorbike.

The Team has designed and it’s ready to realise a twisting work bench for implementing the structural characterization of a Moto3’s frame.

The Team is studying and developing new innovative sistems for energy conversion: the fuel cell. Thery are ecological because they don’t produce polluting substances during their work. They are an eco-friendly choice for the future.
