“The Guiding Light” Loyal Order of Moose North Port Family Center 764 14156 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL 34287 “A Burden, heavy to one is borne lightly by many.” March “The Friendliest Lodge There Is” 2013 Administrator’s Message February might have been a short month but it sure was packed with great happenings. Super Bowl party was a great gathering… great food and a great time for all. WOTM had their casino trip and as always great trip. Want to thank all who attended the Moose Legion Picnic. We really had a great turnout from our lodge. Great job to the WOTM for their pulled pork dinner. Seafood Fest WOW! Great Job! Special thanks to Gene Herbst and Chuck Urbanek for all the hard work and for making this a super night of great food and fun. I want to thank our Man of the Month, James “Whitey” Po- powski, for always being there for the lodge and for anything that may arise. I would also like to thank all of our members who make our lodge a great and friendly place to gather. Fraternally, Ken Lipp, Governor Governor’s Report The Governor covered most of the happenings at the lodge for this month so I want to touch on some things that make it a bit easier in the office. When you are out there getting those new members signed up to help getting your dues paid of the next year, remember a couple of things. These new mem- bers are unfamiliar with our applications and the person signing them up needs to check the filled out application to make sure it is filled out completely . Some things to remember, make sure they sign the OBLIGATION on the back of the application (sign, print name, date), make sure we get a CORRECT PHONE NUMBER, both home and mobile, make sure we get an EMAIL ADDRESS, if they have one, an OCCUPATION and place of work (if they are working!), and if they are MARRIED or not and the SPOUSE’S NAME, if they are. Re- member too, Moose International WILL NOT AC- CEPT POST OFFICE BOXES for an address, so we must have a physical address. It only takes a minute to look over the application, before it is turned in, to make sure all of the above is completed. You would be surprised how much easier it makes the job of getting that appli- cation into the computer and transmitted up to Moose International in a timely manner. Keep up the good work, come in to the Seafood Fest (ymmmmm….oysters!!!), have a drink, chit chat, and keep those new members applications coming. Special recognition goes to Governor Ken Lipp and Prelate Gene Herbst for earning a spot in the 25-Member Club. Darren Buckhalter is now in the 5-Member Club.
