ABOUT MANALI SCHEDULE VISITING PLACES Manali, one of the most famous hill stations of India is nested in the northen end of Kullu Velly (Himachal Pradesh). The word Manali is regarded as the changed name of “Manu-Alaya” which lit- erally means “the abode of Manu”. The small town Manali is situated at an altitude of 6600 feet on the bank of holy Beas river. The climate in Manali is predominantly cold during winters, and moderately cool during summers. Temperature varies from –15 ⁰C to 5 ⁰C in winter and 4 ⁰C to 15 ⁰C in summer time. Snowfall often takes place between November end to early February. Manali is also often referred to as the “Valley of the Gods”. The tourism in this small town received a boost after the rise of militancy in Kashmir in the late 1980s, before that the place was not so known to common people except mountaineers and adventure lovers. Day 01: Departure from Ahmedabad. Overnight train journey. Day 02: Arrival at Chandigarh and then upward journey to Manali by bus. Day 03: Arrival at Manali Base Camp Site in the morning, free time for acclimatization and site seeing, briefing. Day 04: Drive to Naggar, the heritage village and then trekking to Camp I - Rumsu Village (6 km). Day 05: Trekking to Camp II - Chedupatthar (5 km), free time for acclimatization, camp fire. Day 06: Early departure by trekking up to Chanderkhani Pass (6 km) and back to Camp II. Day 07: Trekking to Camp I and then down to Naggar, drive to Manali base camp. Day 08: Buffer day, adventure activities at the camp site Day 09: Visiting the nearby tourist places and departure for Chandigarh in the late night by bus. Day 10: Arrival at Chandigarh and move for Ahmedabad by train. Over night train journey. Day 11: Arrival at Ahmedabad. During the nights, the sky remains clear and hence gives an immense view. Camping far from the crowd, with patched tents and in the warmth of campfire make the individual the real thrill of nature & adventure. The whole schedule is planned in such a way that the participant can acclimatize him/herself well and can enjoy the real beauty of the mighty mountains. The participants are also made to find route and taught many useful technics of rope knots and everyday uses. Being a tourist place, Manali and the around area is reach with so many temples and other visiting places. The town also gives a way to Rohtang Pass and Solang Velley. It is also one of the finest skiing spots in India. Mountaineering Institute has been established by Government and is training youth for snow crafts and mountaineering. Paragliding and ropeways are the most charming activities. In addition, the whole valley is known for apples. The British introduced apple trees and trout. The first apple orchard was set up by the British near Patlikuhl, which were earlier not native to Manali. It is said that when apple trees were first planted, the fruits were so plentiful that often branches, unable to bear the weight, would collapse. To this day, apple along with plum and pear remain the best source of income for the majority. Chanderkhani Pass in at an altitude of 12,200 feet and gives fabulous panaromic view of many snow clad mountains including Mt Deo Tibba. Trek to here is a good starter for high altitude trekking. ABOUT THE NGO HOW TO REGISTER ? Camp Fees: Rs 8000/- per participant.

Fee includes travelling, food and accommodation expenses from

Ahmedabad to Ahmedabad. Sleeper class train fair is also included in

the fees. The fee doesn’t include the food during train journey.

Rs 5500/- per participant. (Manali to Manali)

The participants who are coming to Manali directly on third day,

have to report the camp manager least by 9 o’clock in the morning at

given venue. Fee includes all the travel fair, food and accommodation

from Manali to Manali.

Registration: : Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance

of Rs 5000/- to confirm your booking before 60 days of camp dates.

Please submit the balance payment by 25 days.

Note: Depending upon the situation and the whether condition, the

schedule may change and hence the organization or any person does

not take any responsibility regarding the same. Fees does not include

any type of personal expenses and any other expense not mentioned

above.

INVINCIBLE is a Non Government Organization (NGO) be-

ing run by young students for social reformation and building a

strong nation. Keeping ethics and value system in centre, the

NGO is working for such activities, which will fill valuable quali-

ties in the youth. For spreading awareness in the field of adven-

ture and nature education, the NGO has planned some very

charming events as per regular basis. Along with this, social and

youth awareness activities are also being done.

To spread the awareness for environmental issues and

make the youth adventurous, the NGO has put a project titled

“SPARSH”. Under the project, 180+ adventure & nature educa-

tion camps are planned throughout the nation in various loca-

tions. The project also includes one national trekking expedition

and one mountaineering expedition per year. All the activities

are being done on NO PROFIT NO LOSE basis.
