A Message from the President

Hello fellow APICS Fox Valley Chapter members! Another PDM season has ended on a very positive note. Our Top Management Night event went quite well and the tour of Plexus was awesome! Inside this edition of The Beacon, we’re sharing some pictures from the awards portion of the evening where members were recognized for this past year’s achievements.

Congratulations to all who were recognized! A special thanks to you, our members, for helping make our first ever online elections a HUGE success. In response to member requests, we conducted our yearly elections and bylaw approvals by use of an online survey tool. Holding the elections and bylaw approvals in this manner allowed members who were unable to attend the meeting on the 18th to cast a vote. Election participation rates were greatly improved compared to last year and I’m sure everyone appreciated the ease with which their votes could be cast. While you are enjoying the PDM off-season, your current and newly elected board of directors will be busy transitioning roles and responsibilities in addition to preparing for the upcoming PDM season beginning in September. We will also be busy with continuous improvement efforts for our chapter. More information about one of these improvements can be found inside this edition of The Beacon. Thank you for continuing your membership with this chapter and participating in our Professional Development Meetings, review courses, and providing helpful feedback so our board can continue offering high quality learning and networking opportunities. Have a very safe and happy summer!! See you in September!! Jody

Hello APICS Fox Valley Chapter members. The APICS Fox Valley Chapter board of directors is always striving to provide the best val-ue for its members. We are always looking for ways to improve. I am happy to announce that we are migrating to a new chapter management program. This program will give our website better functionality and puts us in a position where we may be able to incorporate electronic payment for chapter registrations in the near future. This was something that has been requested by our event attendees for quite a while now. Unfortunately our existing website could not support that function-ality. As we transition to our new website, it is possible that our website might not be available for a short period of time. It is our goal to have this project completed by July 1st which would be the beginning of the new program year. I will write more about the new functionality of our new website in our first Beacon news letter of the new program year which will be published in August. Have a fun and safe summer!!! Phillip Kosik Jr. CPIM, CSCP Past President and VP of MIS.

Student Mentoring Program

Have you been looking for a way to get more involved with the APICS Fox Valley Chapter?

If so, we have just the program for you! APICS Fox Valley

Student Mentoring Program

We surveyed the supply chain students at both UW-Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical College and there are students who want to be mentored by an APICS professional.

Some of the benefits to mentoring a student are: Getting to know the next generation of supply chain professionals Learn what is being taught in supply chain programs today Satisfaction of sharing your experiences with others in a meaningful way Enhance your leadership, coaching, and recruiting skills Exposure to ideas, thought processes, styles, and cultures that may be different than your own An opportunity for recruitment into our profession A way to give back to APICS and our profession right here in the Fox Valley area A lasting career network – the mentee that you coach today will hold an influential role in the future!

A survey will be sent out to all APICS Fox Valley Members this month to find interested mentors. Please consider participating in this program, you are a key to its success!

Thank you greatly!
