APIS and ARCAP International Seminar Officially Opened by Vice Rector IV Submit by dietodita on October 20, 2016 | Comment(s) : 0 | View : 4008 Vice Rector IV opened APIS and ARCAP International level seminar in farming areas held by Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fakulti Jabatan Sains Haiwan UPM (Universiti Putra Malaysia) titled "3rd Animal Production International Seminar (APIS)" and "3rd ASEAN Regional Conference on Animal Production (ARCAP)" was officially opened by Vice Rector IV on Planning and Partnership Affairs Dr. Moch. Sasmito Djati, MS, Wednesday (19/Oct/2016). The opening ceremony that held at Orchid Hotel Batu was marked with gong beating and witnessed by Prof. Dr.Sc.Agr. Suyadi, MSc (Dean of Faculty of Animal Husbandry), Dr. Ir. Marjuki, MS (APIS Head of Convener), and Prof. Dr. Abdul Razak Alimon (ARCAP Head of Convener). On the occasion, Sasmito mentioned about the pity breeding condition in Indonesia which is not capable yet to cover market demand needs, moreover East Java as Indonesian cattle shed. Thus, both seminars were expected to be able to find the meeting point of the problems and also able to improve local farmer welfare. The event that will be conducted for three days, Wednesday-Friday (19-21/Oct/2016) followed by 150 participants including domestic and foreign farming actors in ASEAN countries. In order to introduce the diverse of Indonesian cultural art, they were presented with contemporary traditional dancing. And afterwards followed by the seminar which delivered by keynote speakers such as Prof. Dr. A.K. Thiruvenkadan, M.V.Sc., Ph.D (India), Prof. Dr. Ir. Hendrawan Soetanto, M.Rur.Sc. (Indonesia), Prof. (Emeritus) Hsia, Liang Chou, M.Sc., Ph.D (Taiwan), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anjas Asmara Samsudin , DVM (UPM), PhD (Malaysia), Assoc. Prof. Suntorn Wittayakun, M.Sc., Ph.D (Thailand), Prof. Dr. Yusuf L. Henuk (Indonesia). After lunch break, seminar participants had their presentation which divided into groups in related with the chosen topics. Towards the last event in the first day, they were brought to Faculty of Animal Husbandry to be introduced with Brawijaya University particularly Faculty of Animal Husbandry. Participants were welcomed by Reog Ponorogo dancing as Indonesia cultural art. The event was then pursued in a relaxed with traditional dancing and electone, they were also taken to sing and dance together. [dita/Humas UB/trans.
