Freewriting Strategy. Jacobs in Marta (2007:22-23) mention the basic

steps of Freewriting :

1. Preparing writing

Free writing is usually best as the first activity in class because other

activities, anxiety over assignment, and classroom stress may all interrupt or even

hinder the creative process.

2. Setting up the task

The teacher explain what the students have to do in the writing task.

3. Freewriting

Initially, the teacher may provide an example of what to do themselves by

doing the same task in front of the class. Ensuring that students are not correcting

and changing what they wrote.

4. Post-writing

The teacher can collect paper or notebooks for later reading although no

explicit correction or grading should be carried out on the papers.
