NEVER ALONE® by Gecom S.p.A. is a smartphone application for the prevention and security of people on the move, designed to protect and safeguard their property, moveable assets and business.

Without any need to install other devices, NEVER ALONE® is a valuable support tool for the active protection of customers, offering them the possibility of requesting the active intervention of the Gecom Security System which, in the event of a request for help, enables the activation of a specific and customised action plan for all types of alarm.

NEVER ALONE® exploits the geolocation, TV camera and microphone functionalities integrated in smartphones to provide the Security Guards of the Gecom Operations Centre with all necessary information in the event of an emergency.

NEVER ALONE® is particularly suitable for high-profile figures such as vips, entrepreneurs and business men and women, but also those in high-risk jobs such as taxi drivers and sales reps for high-value goods, vulnerable groups such as the elderly, women and children, and in general all those who want to feel safer in every moment of their professional and/or personal lives with their privacy fully respected.

Through the application, available for iPhone and devices with the Android operating system, customers can request the intervention of the Gecom Operations Centre at any time which, on receiving the alarm signal, will launch the specific operating procedures established for each user.

in accordance with the Italian Privacy Law (Leg. Decree 196/2003)

thanks to a specific feature whereby no audio-video is recorded on the

devices of the customer being assisted with all data sent to the Gecom

Operations Centre.

Once you have downloaded the application from the relevant Store (Android or IOS) it is possible to access NEVER ALONE® by inserting your password.

The first screen, which appears when the application is opened, enables you to quickly check the availability of the data connection and the quality of the GPS coverage.

From here you can access the following functions:

Using the icon in the top-left of the “Post-Login screen" it is possible to change the settings of the App, choosing to immediately activate the TV camera, in the event of an emergency request. From this moment on, the emergency button will take the form of the TV camera icon. With this setting, the Operations Centre will be able to see the film shot by your device’s camera.

From the User Profile icon in the top-left the user can register three phone numbers which will receive an SMS if an alarm is set off.

From the icon in the top-right of the Post-Login screen it is possible to exit the App.

N.B.: if you log out, when you log back in you will have to provide the code given to you when you activated the app.

By using the “Request advice” button at the bottom of the Post-Login screen you can ask our specialists for information and advice.

You can request the following types of advice:

• Legal Advice

• Psychological Advice

• Other Advice

Click on the type of advice desired and a screen will open from which you can send an e-mail.

The yellow Pre-Alarm button enables users to alert the Gecom Operations Centre about a potentially dangerous situation. The activation of a timer ensures that the users are monitored for the amount of time they have set. When this amount of time elapses the Pre-Alarm is automatically converted into a “Real Emergency“ at the Operations Centre, with the relative operating procedures activated.

If the customer uses the end pre-alarm button to DEACTIVATE THE PRE-ALARM before the set time elapses, the alarm may be suspended.

Hold down the red button for two seconds to activate an EMERGENCY.

The EMERGENCY alarm signal is received by the Gecom Operations Centre which carries out the specific operating procedures.

The intervention methods are the following:

• Positive outcome with sending of GPS coordinates

• Emergency with absence of data and/or GPS through phone call to Operations Centre

The emergency request involves the preventive activation of video surveillance or the possibility of its subsequent activation.

In the event an EMERGENCY is activated, the NEVER ALONE® system confirms the successful outcome of the transmission of your coordinates to the Gecom Operations Centre by displaying a green flag. In the short term, the user will be contacted by telephone by the Centre.

On the waiting screen before you receive the green flag, it is possible to CALL the Centre directly using the CALL button in the bottom right.

By holding down the TV camera button you can activate the video surveillance function.

When the operators at the Gecom Operations Centre begin handling an EMERGENCY, the NEVER ALONE® system will display a double green flag so that the user knows that the necessary operating procedures are being taken.

The EMERGENCY was managed by the Gecom Operations Centre.

Once the checks have been carried out and it has been established that the danger has passed, the NEVER ALONE® system will indicate the “End of Emergency” to the user by displaying three green flags.

In the absence of data/GPS coverage in the event of an emergency request, the NEVER ALONE® application makes it possible to quickly call the Gecom Operations Centre using the telephone line.

In the event of an emergency the Operations Centre receives the intervention request alarm.

An acoustic alarm signal together with a flashing light notify operators that an emergency has been reported.

Through a GPS signal, the user is localised by the MAP, SATELLITE VIEW or STREET VIEW functions, helping the Gecom operator to correctly identify locations and making it possible to obtain useful information so patrols (Private security and if necessary the forces of law and order) can reach the user in timely and punctual fashion.
