Applications are invited for selection of 8 Members for reconstitution of Delhi Social WelfareBoard. The member of the Board shall be a social worker. The Members shall be a person not lessthan 35 years of age and not more than 6S years of age at the time of appointment. Retired Civilservants/Govt. servants can also apply.

Tenure: - The tenure of the Board will be 3 years from the date of notification.

Remuneration :- No remuneration/honorarium will be paid to the members of theBoard. '

Functions of the Board are as under:

1. To undertake such social welfare activities or programmes which are entrusted to theDelhi Social Welfare Board with the concurrence of the Central Social Welfare Board;

2. To stimulate effective coordination among voluntary welfare agencies in the State;3. To supervise and report on the working of the Institutions/Projects to the Central Social

Welfare Board;4. To advice and assist the Central Social Welfare Board in sponsoring new welfare

Programmes and activities wherever they are needed;5. To coordinate the welfare and development activities undertaken by the various

departments of Delhi Government with a view to avoiding duplication;6. To invite, receive,' examine and recommend to the Central Social Welfare Board

applications for Grant-in-aid from voluntary welfare Institutions under differentprogrammes;

7, To act as a medium for exchange of information between the.field and the Center andvice-versa;"", ,

8. To promote development of welfare services in uncovered areas at present;9. To administer the programmes of Social Welfare in rural belt either sponsored by the

Central Social Welfare Board or jointly initiated,' with the c;ooperation of the DelhiGovernment; J

10. To assist the Central Social Welfare Board and the Delhi Govt. in further development ofwelfare services;

11. To undertake other such activities a~ may be conducive to the fulfillment of theseobjectives,
