• IEEE 802.16 Standard Development Status– 802.16-2004: published in October 2004.– 802.16e-2005 and 802.16-2004/Cor1-2005: published in Febr
uary 2006.– 802.16-2004/Cor2: letter ballot completed as of November 8
, 2006 and the draft will be published in November 2006.• POSDATA is a major contributor in the Cor2 project (chaired or co-
chaired four sub-teams to complete the spec.)• 802.16 standards for OFDMA systems is now stable.

• Mobile WiMAX Certification-related Activities– Plugfest : Plugfest is a WiMAX Forum event for inter-operability
test between different vendors.• Mobile 1 Plugfest: Successfully done in Malaga, Spain (June 2006).• Mobile 2 Plugfest: Successfully done in Frederick, Maryland, USA
(September 2006).• POSDATA completed all the requirements in both Plugfests. Related
photos including POSDATA’s success have been linked to the WiMAX Forum server.
– Validation Process : Validation Process is a WiMAX Forum event for validating test equipments, test cases, test code, and test procedures with help of commercial-level products from only selected invited vendors.• Started November 23, 2006 in Malaga, Spain.• POSDATA is an invited vendor participating in the validation process and
has chaired two sub-teams to develop conformance testing plan.– Certification : Certification is the test-lab verification of
conformance to the mobile WiMAX PICS and demonstration of inter-operability with other mobile WiMAX compliant and conformant devices of the same profile.• Scheduled to start in 2Q, 2007.
