DEATH OF DR. F. N. V. DYER.-Francis NormanVictor Dyer, who died on Jan. 24th from scarlet fever, waseducated at Marlborough and Clare College, Cambridge,taking the Conjoint qualification in January, 1918, and theM.A., M.B., B.Ch. of his University in October last. Whenwar broke out he served as a dresser in the lst EasternHospital, Cambridge, he was six months a surgeon-probationer on H.M.S. Buttercup, then resident anaathetistand casualty officer at St. Thomas’s Hospital, afterwardssurgeon R.N. on H.M.S. Birkenhead until the surrender ofthe German Fleet, when he transferred to the R.A.F., andwas a member of the Invaliding Medical Board at Hamp-stead. Demobilised at the end of October, he was assistantmedical officer at the London Fever Hospital, where hedied.
