World Psychiatric AssociationA legal sub-committee has been set up which as its first task

will propose procedure for the committee to review the abuseof psychiatry for political reasons, which was established by aresolution passed at a meeting of the Association’s generalassembly in Honolulu last year. The chairman of the sub-com-mittee is Mr Anthony McNutty (director, British Institute ofHuman Rights) and the members are Dr Karl-Aaag Norgaard(Denmark) and Mr Brendan Kiernan (Republic of Ireland).
