Our April 7 meeting will be our 2nd Annual New England Chapter Emerging Technologies Night.
Ten presenters will briefly describe their technologies during the meeting, and prior to the meeting we will also have the emerging technology exhibits on the mezzanine during the networking hour (5:30 to 6:30). We will have a diverse range of technologies for
presentation and display.
For the purposes of this meeting we have adapted a
specific definition of Emerging Technology: These are technologies that are well beyond the prototype stage, commercially available, have considerable proven field use, but are not yet widely known or used. Technologies may also include advances in features, cost, or services which are now
causing ‘emergence’.

presentations selected by AEE as representative of new or enhanced technologies of value and interest to AEE members. Most of the technologies address energy efficiency and conservation. A number of these same presenters/technologies were recruited to present at our meeting, and additional presenters/technologies were selected among the hundreds of exhibitors at the WEEC. Technologies include heat pumps, fan/motor design, lighting, daylighting, destratification, compressors, lighting control, modeling software, and advanced
controlled devices.
The intent is to provide technical information on newer technologies for immediate beneficial use
by energy professionals and end-users.

Our March meeting featured a new benefit for attendees by offering CEU’s for the first time during our “Controls Integration” program. Providing CEU’s is just one benefit we plan to continue at future meetings where applicable. Thank you Brian Crafts and

Sinopoli, PE, RCDD, LEED AP of Smart Buildings LLC and Don Lemenager from Schneider Electric provided us with a glimpse of the latest trends in how control systems will be installed and integrated in the future. Building owners and developers will have the opportunity to work with one contractor for all their needs while saving money in cable pathways, cabling and project management. The future will also require your facilities and IT groups to work closer together. This will be no easy feat and may require an outside consultant with an advanced degree in psychology to facilitate! Let’s just hope they are better at it than our lawmakers in D.C. This position is responsible for working independently to conduct facility site surveys and energy cost savings analysis. In addition, the incumbent will identify energy conservation opportunities and develop energy management plans for clients. The Energy Performance Engineer will Identify and evaluate energy efficiency measures through energy audits and data review (mechanical, architectural, electrical). In addition, the engineer will conduct energy focused retro-commissioning studies. The Energy Performance Engineer will provide energy consulting services in institutional, government, industrial and commercial facilities. The successful candidates will have 3+ years of progressive Energy Engineering Experience performing energy consulting, energy engineering, energy audits, and energy project development services. In addition the successful candidate will have demonstrated: 1. Working knowledge of all energy services and systems 2. Excellent verbal and written communications 3. Strong customer interface 4. Mechanical Engineer, or similar engineering bachelors degree 5. HVAC Design/ Operations Experience 6. Energy modeling (Equest) expertise a plus 7. PE a plus 8. CEM a plus 9. RS&H - Senior Energy / Commissioning Engineer
We are currently seeking a Senior Energy / Commissioning Engineer to serve in the Energy Service Group in our Boston office in Brockton, MA. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for the firm's energy practice in the Northeast
market and will work closely with clients, engineers, architects and
subconsultants to ensure that their needs are met. This position will be
responsible for utility-consumption and utility-rate (energy and water/sewer)
analysis, facility audits, field surveys, re-commissioning, energy management
training, energy and water conservation project identification, analysis,
development and design; economic and life cycle cost analysis; evaluations of
new and existing energy systems and comprehensive documentation. The ideal
candidate will grow the Energy Service Group in the Boston office, RFP responses
and client presentations.
Requirements
* Professional registration required
* Engineering degree from ABET approved school * Energy Manager certification by AEE or similar organization is required
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management and/or
commissioning and re-commissioning
* US Citizenship required
* Prior management or supervisory experience required
* Professional presentation skills and above average verbal and written
communication skills
* Good organization and time management skills
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with building energy modeling software (Trane Trace, Trane
System Analyzer, DOE II, eQuest, etc.)
* Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited
Professional, Commissioning Agent Certification
* MS Excel, MS Word, MS ACCESS
