On Tuesday, March 2nd 2010, thirteen members of the Twin Cities North Board of Directors volunteered their time at the Coon Rapids facility of the ‘Feed My Starving Children’ organization. Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org) provides a team-building environment where people of all ages can come together for a common cause: packing nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children. These
meals are then shipped to more than 60 countries around the world, truly offering hope to the hungry. Estab-lished in 1987, Feed my Starving Children has four facilities, three of which are located in Minnesota. All meals
packed are done by volunteers, half of which are under the age of 18. In 2008, over 310,000 volunteers packed over 73.6 million meals for children around the world. During their time at the facility, the 13 members of the Twin Cities North Board of Directors completed 908 MannaPacks that will provide 5,448 meals for starving children. “While the Chamber of Commerce is a business organization, we understand the importance of helping out in the community.” said Tim Roche President and CEO of the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce. “Once a quarter, the Board of Directors plans to identify and work for a group, helping to make the Twin Cities
North a better place to work, live and play.” The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the growth of private business. With over 400 member businesses in the surrounding area, we advocate for economic development and the opportunity to create jobs that pay great wages and offer competitive benefits to area residents.

TWIN CITIES NORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFICE MOVING TO NEW BRIGHTON
The Board of Directors of the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that on May 1st, 2010, the Chamber will be opening a new office at 525 Main Street Village in New Brighton. “We are excited for this opportunity.” said President & CEO, Tim Roche. “Main Street Village has a multitude of businesses all within one central location.”
Main Street Village is a mixed-use project in downtown New Brighton featuring four office/retail buildings, restaurants and multifamily housing on a ten-acre site. Main Street Village has tenants such as the New Brighton Post Office, Risdall Marketing Group, CU Companies, DD’s, Jimmy Johns, and Our Bar and Grill.
With the move, the Twin Cities North Chamber will be vacating the office in the Mounds View Community Center. “It is always tough to move.” said Roche, “but it is even more difficult to tell our landlord, the City of Mounds View, that we will be leaving. They have been very good to us for 6 years.”
The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank members Cave & Associates, Essence Real Estate Services, Landwehr Law Offices, Pratt Ordway Properties, and WIN Insurance for getting us this far in the process. Specifically Pratt Ordway Properties, as the Chambers new landlord, has gone out of their way in accommodating this transition. As the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is a regional Chamber, focusing its efforts on business in 10 communities, the location of the office is just a piece of the puzzle. “The Board of Directors has been working very hard to ensure that we have the impact of a regional Chamber, but the connections of a local Chamber.” Roche stated. “We are looking forward to continuing to drive the new agenda for business in the region, with a list of cutting edge initiatives.”
The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the growth of private business. With over 400 member businesses in the surrounding area, we advocate for economic development and the opportunity to create jobs that pay great wages and offer competitive benefits to area residents.

International Paper Announces Opening of Expanded Recycling Facility
International Paper is pleased to announce the grand opening of its expanded, state-of-the-art recycling facility, Twin Cities Enterprise Recycling Plant. The new 200,000 square-foot facility is designed to sort, bale and load recycling material
quickly and efficiently. It will provide recycling services to all segments of the local community, including the destruction of
confidential documents for the businesses and citizens of the metro area.
The new facility, which is located at 2425 Terminal Road in Roseville, Minn., is one of International Paper’s 21 recycling
plants across North America. IP’s recycling business is one of North America’s largest recyclers of recovered office paper and corrugated boxes. It collects, consumes and markets more than 6 million tons of all paper recovered annually in the
United States. The recovered paper is then used by the company’s containerboard mills to create new paper products or is
sold to other manufacturers across the globe.
