Dear Friends, The journey of “What On Earth Am I Here For?” has been amazing. God is speaking to hearts and lives in powerful ways. I hear people saying things like, “Wow”, “Awesome”, “God is working in my life”, “I just don’t know how to express it – it’s great”, “I need this!”. It is beautiful to see how God is working and using our learning, conversa- tions, and sharing to take all of us to another level of love and devotion to Him. We celebrate a living Lord and Savior and we celebrate the hope of our faith through the wonder of Easter. Our Christian faith is grounded in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without Easter, there is no Christianity. If there was no resurrection we would have no hope. When our Lord and Savior died for us, He conquered death and pro- claimed victory over sin. The grave could not contain Him, and on the third day after his death, he victoriously arose from the grave. He is alive! “Up from the grave he arose!” “He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today.” “Christ the Lord is risen today, Hallelujah!” We sing them because we believe them, and the more we sing them the more joy in brings to our lives. All of the Easter songs have this one thing in common – hope! We have hope in the risen savior Jesus Christ. He brings spring to our lives with fresh and new hope. He creates in us clean and right heart. He fills our mouth with laughter. He gives us new spiritual clothes to wear. Brothers and sisters in Christ, may you experience the fresh air of spring and the newness of life. May the risen Lord fill your basket with hope and your heart with joy. The Lord bless you and keep you. Christ,

Dear Friends,

The journey of “What On Earth Am I Here For?” has

been amazing. God is speaking to hearts and lives in

powerful ways. I hear people saying things like,

“Wow”, “Awesome”, “God is working in my life”, “I

just don’t know how to express it – it’s great”, “I need this!”. It is

beautiful to see how God is working and using our learning, conversa-

tions, and sharing to take all of us to another level of love and devotion

to Him.

We celebrate a living Lord and Savior and we celebrate the hope of our

faith through the wonder of Easter. Our Christian faith is grounded in

the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without Easter, there

is no Christianity. If there was no resurrection we would have no hope.

When our Lord and Savior died for us, He conquered death and pro-

claimed victory over sin. The grave could not contain Him, and on the

third day after his death, he victoriously arose from the grave. He is

alive! “Up from the grave he arose!” “He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus

lives today.” “Christ the Lord is risen today, Hallelujah!” We sing

them because we believe them, and the more we sing them the more joy

in brings to our lives. All of the Easter songs have this one thing in

common – hope! We have hope in the risen savior Jesus Christ. He

brings spring to our lives with fresh and new hope. He creates in us

clean and right heart. He fills our mouth with laughter. He gives us

new spiritual clothes to wear.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, may you experience the fresh air of

spring and the newness of life. May the risen Lord fill your basket

with hope and your heart with joy. The Lord bless you and keep you.

Spring Rummage & Bake Sale—And Much, Much More!!!

Folks have been asking “When is the next rummage sale?” Well, the wait is al-

most over. April 15th is going to be the day and a fun day on property. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt, Pancake Breakfast, Bake Sale, Easter Choco-

lates Sale and more! We’ll be joining forces with the Children, Youth, and Through the Roof to bring a special day of fun to the community.

Let the Music Department help you out with your Easter Dinner. We have some of the best bakers and dessert makers in the church! For our bake sale, we’ll

have a selection of home-made whole pies and cakes that will complete your Easter celebration. The Rummage Sale and Pancake Breakfast will begin at 7:00 A.M. The Bake Sale

and Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 9:00 A.M. All festivities will conclude at

Noon. IMPORTANT: Please hold your donations until April 9th. Your contributions are deeply appreciated. However, because our garage is used for many things, early dona-tions can create problems by blocking in needed items. They can also get confused with

items being held for Family Promise. Remember, patience is a virtue!

Our Special Needs Ministry is going strong. Commenting on our gathering on

March 19th, Toby said, “Phyllis, there are a lot of new people here tonight. It’s

really great that we have new people.” His enthusiasm was noted. Toby is a natural at welcoming everyone. He stands at the entrance to welcome and shake

peoples’ hands. Thank you, Toby.

Our Amigos began as the Three Amigos: Toby, Katie and Ashley. They chose the

name because they were/are friends. Now the group has grown so we no longer

use “Three” at the beginning. They are now the Amigos-friends of each other

and friends of God. This group meets twice monthly. We meet for a Praise and

Worship service. We play praise songs while dancing and singing along. One of

our favorite parts is singing into the microphone. We pray together learning that

God hears our prayers and that sometimes God speaks to us so we should be

still and listen. We also read scripture and learn how God is still working in our

world today. After the Praise and Worship service, we eat a meal together then

do an activity like planting seeds, filling Easter eggs, playing a game while discussing

some concerns we may have.

It is during these activities that we heard one young man say, “My dog died and I

am really angry at God.” Providing a space for the Amigos to feel free to express

themselves and learn about God is what this time is for. They know they will not

be bullied or made fun of. They are safe. It is a beautiful time we share together.

Please feel free to visit any time.

Thank you to the members of UMCPB for supporting this ministry. As you witness more individuals with special needs enter our doors, I thought it would

be good to share some reminders for how to communicate with people who

have special needs. Here are some general guidelines:

When offering assistance to a person with a disability, wait until your

help is accepted and then ask how you can best assist them. Address them just as you would any other person. It is acceptable to offer a handshake during introductions even if the

other person has limited mobility in their hand or an artificial limb. Do not alter your voice or speak in a simplified, childish manner. If an interpreter is present, speak directly to the person and not their interpreter. Do not lean on anyone’s wheelchair. Do not interact with service animals without asking first. If the person with whom you are speaking has a visual disability, make

sure you identify yourself and any people who may be accompany-ing you.

Be patient if the person with whom you are speaking has trouble under-standing you. Do not get frustrated or raise your voice in an un-pleasant way.

In Christ’s Love,

Phyllis

The car window clings have arrived and you can have one for your car to let everyone know

about the Church of the Palm Beaches! Due to the cost of approximately $2 each, we are asking

for a donation for each cling you take. Clean the interior of your rear car window (or any win-

dow!) and evenly press on the cling, beginning in the center and working toward each end. The

clings are removable and reposition-able. Thank you to our Artist in Residence William Joyner

for the design!
