High schoolers welcomed guest speaker, Nike Ohonme, college coed and daughter of Tracie and Emmanuel “Manny” Ohonme, founders of Samaritan’s Feet International. High Schooler, Sophie Riddell, has had the privilege of volunteering at the SFI warehouse sorting the shoes that are collected and sent all over the world. She said of Nike’s visit, “She was truly inspirational and I hope I can go back there [SFI] soon.  Nike made an impact on our high schoolers: “Nike was such a great speaker! She was so easy to listen to and so interesting. I could tell she has a passion for what she is doing, and she made me really think about my future and what I could do to change peoples’ lives.” Erin Champion

“Nike’s story about Samaritan’s Feet and her walk with the Lord was amazing and very inspiring. It was a great youth group and I’m so glad she came!” Meredith Banks “Nike’s story and lessons were extremely touching and inspiring to hear.” Sara Tiedeman

Making Chemo Kits

Guest Speaker Nike Ohonme

Our high schoolers hit the jackpot playing Bingo and having great fun with our friends at Plantation Estates! Congratulations to Clay Sellers– the big Bingo winner!

Pot of Gold Bingo at Plantation Estates

Before high schoolers put together chemotherapy kits for cancer patients, we had a discussion about the effects of cancer on the patients and their families and how hard it is for all of us to cope with life's difficulties. The chemo kits were a great hit and meant so much to the patients. One man even teared up and expressed his sincerest gratitude that someone he'd never even met would think of him and pray for him during this difficult time. Our acts of service go further than we know. Submitted by Sarah Polk Herum
