2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC

The IQAC is trying to enhance the quality culture in academic and administrative

activities in the college.

Assist to maintain quality culture in the college and tried to create student centric

environment .

Analyzed the feedback collected from the student, employs and other

stakeholders. and adopted the data toward the enhancement the quality.

Organized summer residential camp for the preparation of competitive

examinations.

IQAC maintain the documentation of various activities leading to quality

enhancement at departmental well as faculty level

the academic year 2014-15(as per directions of Savitribai Phule Pune University)

One day workshop was conducted on ‘Preparation and restructuring of T.Y.B.Sc.

( Electronic Science) syllabus which was sponsored by BCUD, Savitribai Phule Pune

University .

Innovative processes adopted by the institution in Teaching and Learning:

Opportunities to teachers to attend seminars, conferences, orientation and refresher

courses in order to enhance teaching quality.

Access to large number of e-books and e-journals through ‘INFLIBNET’ facility.

Slow and Advanced learners batches are run.

ICT enabled teaching methods are used e.g. use of LCD Projector, Laptop,

Internet connection, Power Point Presentation etc.

The students are encouraged to use computer software packages for experimental

and theoretical purposes.

University has introduced bar coding, masking, providing photocopy of the assessed

papers and revaluation system.

An hour before the actual examination starts Question Papers for B. Sc. B.Com and

B.C.A. classes are uploaded on link provided by the University. One of the senior

faculty members from the college is appointed as College Examination Officer

(CEO). Passwords for question papers are sent through SMS on Principal’s and

CEO’s mobile for downloading and printing by the university examination

department.

Midterm and internal examination are conducted

Evaluation methods are communicated to the students in advance.

Assessment, moderation system for the comprehensive evaluation of examination is

done at central assessment program at university level. College follows the same

method for the first year answer sheet evaluation.

Revaluation at first year is also done at college level as per demand of the student.

Criterion – III Research, Consultancy and Extension

3.1 Initiatives of the IQAC in Sensitizing/Promoting Research Climate in the institution

The college motivates and supports the teachers to pursue research activities. Faculty

members are encouraged to achieve Ph.D. degrees. They are also advised to apply for Ph.D.

research guide ship. We have constituted a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) to facilitate

research in the college. Its main objective is to screen the new research proposals of the

faculty and to suggest the necessary changes in it and also to monitor the on-going research

projects and evaluate the completed research projects. Committee makes sincere efforts to

obtain maximum grant from the funding agencies like BCUD, UGC, FIST through DST.

These grants have proved to be instrumental in the development and up gradation of the

laboratory facilities i.e. advanced equipments, library books, research journals, audio-visual

equipments, computers and softwares etc.

The college conducts academic programs to inculcate the research culture and

scientific temperament among the students. The students are motivated to participate in the

seminars, conferences, and to visit the reputed research laboratories etc. In the science

program, final year students have to undertake the project work individually or in a group and

submit their project reports in the final semester. The college promotes research by providing

sabbatical leave facility and also on deputation basis.

Social Responsibility

UGC sponsored One day State Level Seminar was held on “Role of Scientific Toys in

Science Education” on 20th

February 2015 by the department of Electronic Science .

Especially, this workshop proved to be beneficial to explore the scientific ideas of

secondary school teachers and the students.

One day National Conference on Interdisciplinary Approach in Green Science (IAGS-

2015) sponsored by BCUD, Savitribai Phule Pune University was held on 14th

Electronic Excellence Examination 2015 organized by Society for Promotion of

The college encourages students and faculty for community services to

undertake extension and social activities. The extension activities like tree

plantation, Blood Donation Camp, Police Mitra, Campus beautification etc. were

organized.

Department of chemistry has provided soil and water analysis facility to nearby

farmers.

Alumni association contribute in the development of the college by

participating in the various activities.

Parent Teacher Scheme helps to solve the problems of students.

NCC cadets participate as a volunteer in the Palkhi Sohala of Saint

Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram.

Students participate in the “AVISHKAR” activity which is run by the SPPU

Pune. The visits of PG students to reputed laboratories like NCL ISCER

etc. was organized.

5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services

The college conducts health checkup camp for first year students for all faculty.

Eight day “Yoga Arogya Camp” was conducted for girls. Total 76 students

participated in the camp. In the tenure of camp various lectures on basic Yoga,

basic stretching, pranyanam, meditation, diet, women health problems and

remedies on it, were organized.

Self defense camp with demonstration of judo and karate was organized for the girl

participated in this camp. Activities like tree plantation, health check up camp,

animal check up, repairing and maintenance of road work, eradication of

superstitions, anti drug awareness drive, women empowerment program and

construction of Vanrai Bandhara swachhata of cemetery etc. were carried out.

The regular activities under NSS program includes volunteering as a Police

Mitra in Ganesh Immersion procession. On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi

Jaytanti, Swachhata Abhiyan and oath on the same issue was organized.

In all 213 volunteers actively participated in the assembly election. Total 81

students donated blood in Blood Donation Camp and 290 students participated

in haemoglobin check up camp. One day workshop on “social service” was

organized on 23 Dec 2014. NSS volunteers also participated in water harvesting

This year the syllabus for the second year for all subjects has been implemented for

UG classes as per directions of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and the syllabi

for the third year has been restructured. The B.O.S. members in our institution

participate in syllabi restructuring committee. Many teachers from our college to

participate in workshop/seminars for discussion of new syllabi. Their valuable

suggestions are taken into consideration regarding development and design of

curriculum.

Department of Political Science organized syllabus workshop for restructuring the

syllabi for third year UG class on 12 March 2015 sponsored by SPPU, Pune.

The college has designed syllabi for two career oriented courses and the same is

approved by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. They are as follows:

The syllabi for various skill based short term courses were designed by the college.

previous examination are grouped into a slow learner’s batch. The students are

supported by the subject teachers in order to help them to cope up with academic

progress.

Through Parent-Teacher scheme the students are helped and guided by the teacher in-

The teachers are encouraged for active participation in research by submitting the major
