Technical Illustration Definition

Technical illustrations are product graphics used in a variety of documents throughout the enterprise

Quickly, clearly convey a variety of information about a manufactured product typically shown in the situation the product is used, assembled, or serviced

Only meaningful details are shown; Insignificant details are omitted

The use of perspective or isometric views and graphic devices (i.e. line weight, hidden lines removal, cutaways) emphasizes the key details of the illustration
