We spent nine hours at two stores over two days and collected over $3,700.00 in pet supplies for the shelter! At our Service Official Visit, we presented the supplies to the Hu- mane Society and gave a day of service with our grand officers. We did several chores to help out such as pulling weeds, clean- ing rooms, washing windows, making treats, organizing, washing walls, and more. The News reporter and shelter were both very impressed and our assembly was so glad to have been able to give to the community. Get ready for pies! Eureka Court No. 109Order of the Amaranth

I don’t know about your house but we are getting the healing of Mother Nature with cooler weather and wonderful rain. As I write this we are between storms, but more are expected. Bring it on. Feed the ground so that all the beau-tiful flowers of spring will begin to germinate. We are also entering the last quarter of our Amaranth year. We had a wonderful Official Visit of the Grand Royal Matron and Grand Royal Patron at our September meeting. In addition to our Court officially entertaining the Grand Family, it was also the time to celebrate the Grand Officers assigned to us. The re-ception for this was held immediately following the meeting. We honored 2 Grand Floor Officers, a DGRM, a DGRP, an AGL, and 6 Grand Representatives, most of whom were able to visit their jurisdictions. On Thursday afternoon, PGRM Donna host-ed her traditional Bar-Be-Que at her home. A fun couple of days were had by all. Some meeting reminders follow: October 26th Theme: Hollowweeeeeeeeen! November 16th Theme: Giving Thanks December 21st Theme: unknown but it will revolve around the holidays January 25th Theme: Joys of the New Year. This will also be Advance Night. Note that in November, I’m sure you all remember, our of-ficial meeting night change to 3rd Wednesday so that we don’t interfere with holidays. We hope that all of you are able to make the meetings. With most of the road construction coming to end, at least for the winter, it should be easier to get around on the highways. Any of you using 299 to Redding, that road is nearly completed. Even most of the markings are on the road and last time I traveled the highway from Weaverville to the east, no pilot cars. We hope that you are all in good health and eager to join us for the last few months of the year. We welcome you to each meeting and hope that some of those of you who do not have an installed office will also find time to visit. We miss you Come Up And See Us Sometime!

Six Rivers Lodge No. 106

Camellia Chapter No. 63

Greetings Brethren, I would like to start this month’s article by

congratulating Brother Gabriel Vaughn on being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. We look forward to your continued growth and participation in the lodge Bro. Vaughn. We will have our Dinner and Stated Meeting on Tues-day, November 1st. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM with lodge opening at 7:30 PM. This month’s meeting is partic-ularly special as the Brethren of Six River’s Lodge will be presenting Brother Frank Arruda with the Hiram Award. Brother Arruda is always there to help in any way and it is an honor and a pleasure to have Frank as a Brother and a member of Six River’s. With Tuesday, November 8th being Election Day, we will keep things light at lodge and enjoy dinner with fellow-ship that evening. With the end of the year right around the

corner, we will spend the remaining Tuesday’s practicing advanced stations as well as working on proficiencies for next year’s officers. Speaking of next year, perhaps some of our newer members or those who haven’t held an officer position re-cently would consider contacting Brother Steve Jacobs to discuss being an Officer in 2017. As we have all heard many times, our Lodge is only as strong as its members and their participation. Please consider “taking a chair” next year to do your part to help make sure our Lodge continues to grow and flourish in the years to come as well. I will end this month’s article with a quote from Bro. Ir-ving Berlin:

“Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power

working 24 hours a day, good or bad. It is of paramount importance that we know how

to harness and control this great force.”

Fraternally,John A Gonsalves, WM

We at Camellia Chapter are winding down another year. This past year was busy and rewarding. The Books for Bikes program with Alice Birney Elementary was an amaz-

ing experience for both us and the children who won bikes. We had many social events, and are currently holding our No-Go Tea Party. Keep an eye on your mailbox or see Sister Kris Chorbi for details on this event. Brother Lee and I thank everyone for your support dur-

ing this year Our farewell meeting will be held on Novem-ber 2nd. Brother Lee and I will be preparing to step down, and on November 5th, at two o’clock in the afternoon, we will hold our 136th Installation of Officers, with Sister Joni Aitken and Brother Lee Astorino taking their places as Wor-thy Matron and Worthy Patron. We wish them all the best on their incredible journey.

Bethel No. 86,Job’s Daughters

What a busy Fall we are having! On September 16, we left for a fun weekend.

Friday night, we stopped in Guerneville and spent the night at the Masonic Lodge there. Then Saturday morning, we headed into San Francisco for the Grand Librarian’s Science Day at the Exploratorium. It was really fun! There were about 150 Job’s Daughters there! After that, we went to the Scottish Rite Cen-ter for the Grand Librarian’s reception, and then an overnight with her Bethel. On Sunday, some of us spent time exploring San Francisco, riding cable cars, eating lunch at the Rainforest Café, etc., while some others went to watch the Giants get shut out! (They should have stayed with the rest of us!) All-in-all it was a really great and memorable weekend! Many thanks to our Grand Librarian for her wonderful idea and to the Scottish Rite for underwriting it! At our meeting on September 19, we read another peti-tion, so we then had two girls to initiate. Initiation did not hap-pen on October 3, though, for several reasons. It is scheduled for October 17, which is also our Deputy’s Official Visit. Details to come in the next Trestleboard. Leadership Camp was October 7-9. We had a smaller group than usual, and it seems that all of Northern California followed suit, so the gathering was more intimate than usual. We still had a lot of fun with fewer Daughters, getting to know each other, ex-changing ideas, playing games, attending learning modules, etc. On October 22 we will participate in the Walk to End Al-zheimer’s as a Bethel service project. Our Honored Queen lost her grandfather to Alzheimer’s, so this project is close to her heart. We want to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone who donated to this event to help find a cure for this horrible disease. We got a wonderful response everywhere we went to gather contributions! We plan to have a mystery trip after the Walk to End Al-zheimer’s, and we’ll let you know what it turned out to be in the next Trestleboard, so stay tuned! On October 23 we will do some pumpkin carving at the Eu-reka Methodist Church, which should also be lots of fun. We plan to go to Crescent City on October 30 to have our Wor-ship Service at the Methodist Church there. The Crescent City Bethel will join us at church, and we will do something fun af-terward as well. Thank you again to everyone who supports our Bethel. We could not do all the things we do without the help of our Ma-sonic Family, and we appreciate all your help and support! Best wishes to one and all – Bethel No. 86 ArcataJob’s Daughters International

6:30pm and our meeting at 7:30pm. Please call sister Patti and let her know if you can make it. Several of your officers attended Grand Chapter in Visalia in October. We will be honored by having PGM Sister Debbie Maiman presiding during our 2017 Installation of Officers on November 19, 2016 at 2:00pm. Sister Patti and Brother Randy are having several 2014 Grand Officers participating in the installation ceremony. We hope our members will come and find out what is in store for 2017. Happy Birthday to those born in November and get well wishes to those who are under the weather. Winter seems to have started early this year. Thanksgiving will be here in no time! In closing, we have enjoyed our year as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron.
