Report Date: 12/05/07 Expiration Date: 11/20/11 Project Summary: Architectural Testing, Inc. was contracted by International Window Corporation to perform testing on a Series/Model 5820/5821/5860/5880, Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) XO sliding glass door. The sample tested successfully met the performance requirements for an SD-LC25 2437 x 2440 (96 x 96) rating. Test specimen description and results are reported herein. The sample was provided by the client. Test Specification: The test specimen was evaluated in accordance with the following:

AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-05, Standard/Specification for Windows, Doors, and Unit Skylights. CAWM 300, Forced Entry Resistance Tests for Sliding Glass Doors.

Test Specimen Description: (Continued) Overall Area: 6.0 m2 (64.0 ft2) Finish: All PVC was white. Frame Construction: All members were constructed of extruded PVC. The corners were mitered and fully welded. The exterior meeting stile was attached to the head and sill with two (2) #10 x 3" Phillips flat head sheet metal screws. The screw heads were sealed with silicone. Snap-in adapters were employed at the head and sill of the fixed lite. An aluminum snap-in roller track insert was employed at the interior sill track and held-back 3/16" from each jamb. A snap-in roller track insert was employed at the screen sill track and held-back 1/2" from each jamb. Panel Construction: All members were constructed of extruded PVC. The corners were mitered and fully welded. Weatherstripping:

Glazing Details: The door utilized 3/4" thick overall sealed insulating glass. The insulating glass was comprised of two (2) 3/16" thick clear tempered sheets with a 'U' shaped coated steel spacer system (CU). The glass was exterior glazed onto 1/2" wide glazing tape and secured with a PVC snap-in glazing bead. Drainage:

Test Specimen Description: (Continued) Hardware:

Reinforcement: Galvanized steel reinforcement (part #5820-35) was employed at the exterior meeting stile. Galvanized steel reinforcement (part #5820-34) was employed at the active panel meeting stile. Aluminum reinforcement (part #50192) was employed at the active panel jamb stile. Screen Construction: All members were constructed of roll formed aluminum. The corners were mitered and attached with metal corner keys. The mesh cloth was held-in-place with a vinyl spline. Four (4) roller assemblies were employed, two (2) each at the top and bottom rails. A handle and latch assembly was employed at the jamb stile and a row of polypile weatherstripping was employed at the meeting stile. Installation: The door was installed into a 2 x 8 test buck constructed of Douglas Fir No. 2 lumber. A 1/8" gap was present between the test buck and the window all sides. The nailing fin was set against the test buck and secured using #6 x 1-5/8" drywall screws located 4" from each end and 10" on center. The nailing fin was sealed to the test buck with silicone.
