Examples of On-Going Army Dental Research Include:
development of anti-plaque chewing gum to control dental
plaque growth.
development new anti-microbial therapeutics
testing and evaluating new bone regenerative materials in an
attempt to translate the materials to regenerate complex cranio
maxillo-facial battle injuries
researching and development of new strategies to reduce
hypertrophic scar formation and contractures following burns to
the face

Part-time service• TPU. Unit within 50 miles, serve 1
weekend/month, 2 weeks in the summer
• IMA. Assigned to an Army hospital or clinic,
annually backfill Active duty for 2 weeks
• APMC. Assigned to a unit that needs your
specialty. Train with the unit every year for 2
weeks working in an Army or local civilian
hospital or clinic
• 90 day mobilizations
• Not necessary to move for Army Reserve
