VISIT OF CHAIRMAN (10 Jan 2018)
A familiarisation visit of Brig Adm M Sri Kumar, SC ,Chairman APS
Khadakwasla ,NDA was conducted on 10 Jan 2018. The Principal
briefed him about functioning and achievements of the School.

ON - LINE QUIZ COMPETITION
The students of APS Khadakwasla
participated in an online quiz
competition conducted by
Ministry of Defence based on
gallantry awards. The quiz was
conducted to inculcate the spirit
of nationalism and patriotism
among the youth. The students
received participation certificates.
INTER — SCHOOL COMPETITIONS
Inter -School Skit Competition was organised by Sakal
Foundation at HP Desai Commerce College on 15 Jan 2018. Students of
class VII participated in both Hindi and English
Skits respectively Corruption free India and
Kitaboan Ki Raksha ,Jeevan Ki Suraksha. In both
categories ,students performed well .Out of 120
Schools ,30 Schools were selected for the final round and both skits
presented by APS Khadakwasla were selected .However, they did not
make it to the best three skits.

REPUBLIC DAY (26 JAN 18)
Republic Day was celebrated in the School with great enthusiasm. The honourable Chief
Guest Group Captain GB Patole hoisted the national flag.
A cultural programme was organised by tiny tots of the School. Students participated in
fan drill and ribbon dance with great enthusiasm . Medals and Certificates were given to
the shining stars of APS Khadakwasla by the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest motivated the
Students with his inspiring speech .At the end, Principal Mrs Simple Sahay addressed the
audience and motivated Students to be good citizens and contribute in their own little
ways towards Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan.

TEACHERS’ TRAINING (27 Jan 2018)
Mrs Urvashi Shenoy of Prep My Skills conducted a workshop on
Life Skill Education for all Teachers on 27 Jan 2018. She
explained how life skills have become an integral part in
today’s education system. Life skill and work education will be
implemented this ensuing year for classes VI-X. She elaborated
on various modules which would be dealt through in the class
PMS online/offline program , like communication skills, financial
literacy and how to face life’s challenges in a better way. This would definitely create a pos-
itive impact on the lives of Students and enrich their School life experiences.

MEDIEVAL INDIA (22 Feb 2018)
A Social science exhibition was organized by class VII students.Exhibition showcased the
markets of Medieval India.Various colourful products like spices, sarees, bedsheets and oth-
er food items of that period were put on display.The children showcased import and export
items of Medieval Age. It was an innovative way to learn the rich history of Medieval India.
This visual treat left an indelible mark on not only the Students of Class Seven but entire
student fraternity.It was a first time initiative and effort of Students in organizing the
Medieval market was truly amazing and well appreciated by Principal & other Staff
members .
PARENT - TEACHER MEETS
An Open House was organized on 03rd Feb 2018 . Evaluation III ,Assessment I papers were
shown to classes I– V and UT2 papers to Classes VI to X. Results of the Wards were
discussed with parents .Parents of Classes IX and X were addressed by the Principal . On
24th March 2018 ,last PTM for Academic Session 2017-18 was conducted.PTM was an
interactive session between Teachers and Parents and annual report cards were given to
the Students.
PARENTAL ORIENTATION FOR CLASS 10 ( 3 FEB 2018)
The mind state of anxious Soldiers working hard to achieve a
win-win situation is quite similar to School students who
appear in life changing Board exams .Keeping this in view, the
School organised an Orientation Programme for parents of
class X students.Principal addressed the parents and shared
valuable tips to handle stress.

GOOD LUCK CEREMONY FOR CLASS 10 (17 FEB 2018)
Good luck and appreciation ceremony was organized for the outgoing Class X
Students for the first time in presence of their Parents . The event started with
lighting of lamp by the Principal and Saraswati Vandana by students of Class IX. The
children were given a token of appreciation and their contribution towards the
School was recognized. The parents were invited to share their viewpoints and it
was indeed heartening to hear their true inner feelings for the Principal, Staff and
the School.Principal addressed the gathering and motivated Students to beat the
stress of Board Exams with positivity.
Students of Class IX bid a fond farewell to the out going batch of class X .The day had
finally come for class X Students to leave the School’s portals and step into a new
world. It was time to reminisce joyous moments with Teachers and friends. The theme
of farewell party was ‘BON VOYAGE’. The ceremony started with welcome of class X
students ,followed by an incredible dance item which was highly appreciated by one
and all. The stage was set ablaze with a ramp walk by class X students and later the
shortlisted candidates were asked questions by the Judges. Prachi Naik was declared
Ms APS Khadakwasla while Gaurav Nath was adjudged Mr APS Khadakwasla.
The outgoing students expressed their gratitude to the Principal and mentors for their
guidance.Principal, Mrs Simple Sahay shared her words of wisdom with the students.
The farewell ceremony ended with the solemn passing of lit candles symbolic of
carrying the torch of wisdom and knowledge. .The ceremony was a symbol of hope
and prayers .The farewell function was a celebration of a successful school life
reflecting the years of laurels, hardships, memorabilia, struggles and coronations.

A picnic to Bhilar, Panchgani was organised for the
Staff members of APS Khadakwasla. Melodious
songs,lip smacking snacks and smiling faces made
the journey a befitting beginning to a fun filled day.
Apart from relaxation and enjoyment, the picnic
aimed at building up team spirit among the
members of the Staff. The Teachers participated in
many adventure sports like-zip line ,Burma bridge
trekking ,hurdle crossing etc. Many other games were organized wherein the teachers
enjoyed to the fullest. This was an occasion to let loose and be with each other to
rejoice and revel out of workplace.
STAFF PICNIC (24 FEB 2018)
FAREWELL TO PATRON ( 12 MARCH 2018)
The School bid farewell to the Patron, Air Marshal Jasjit Singh Kler, VM on 12th Mar 18.
The students were given an opportunity to ask questions to the Patron on his school
life and ambition and they were really amused at the Patron’s witty replies and
anecdotes. Principal thanked Air Marshal Kler for his guidance and inspiration and
wished him a great retired life in the years to come. A portrait of the Patron made by
the Art Teacher, Mr Rahul Salve was gifted to him as a thanks giving gesture.

A workshop on ‘O LABS ’ was conducted by Kalyani School Hadapsar on 28 Feb 2018. It is
an initiative by Amrita University and CDAC to make learning in Science , Maths and
English interesting .The Teachers were given hands on training on how to help students
‘learn by doing’. The workshop also talked about e-basta, another govt initiative to lessen
the load of books for Students. The workshop was attended by Mrs Jyoti Shah,
Mrs.Monisha Rastogi , Mrs Sreeja Ajai and Mrs. Shanmughpriya.

EXTRA MARKS WORKSHOP ( 22 MARCH 2018)
A training workshop by Extra marks was conducted for the
School Faculty for effective use of SLCs They were made aware
of the use of additional features to make learning more
interesting for the students.
CACA PROJECT ( 28 MARCH 2018)
The School is implementing Project CACA ,a special programme to
empower the students to take care of their personal safety wef
Apr 2018 . A workshop was organized for Teachers on 28 Mar
2018 by Ms Tanvi Sardesai, Ms Nishita Choudhari, Clinical
Psychologists from Fortis Hospital , Mumbai Sharmila Raje from
‘Muskan’ a foundation for Child Protection and Mr Vikas Nautiyal,
Director, CACA project .The main aim was to create awareness about child rights, related
laws and agencies involved along with action to be taken as a Parent Teacher and as a
citizen of India. Principal addressed all the Staff Members and apprised them of the need to
take up the project and spread awareness among the Students through the safety work
books .
ART EXHIBITION ( 24 MARCH 2018)
The first Annual Art Fest ‘Kalakriti’ was organized in school on 24th March 2018.
Mrs Jasjit Kler , President FWO inaugurated the Fest .The exhibits on display included
the art works done by the Students throughout the session—Still Life, Doodle Art,
Memory Drawing, Cartoon Sketches etc.which were a perfect display of pupil creativity
and talent . It was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest and parents .

A classwise Orientation session was conducted for
parents of classes I –II, III-V and VI, IX and X on
31 March 2018 wherein they were made aware of the
academic system to be implemented in the new
session. Tips for positive parenting and how to ensure
safety of Students was shared with parents.
Parents were happy to connect with the school .
