CHRIST (Deemed to be University)
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational
vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationalist and social
reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the
first Catholic indigenouindigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary
Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be
University).
Established in 1969 as Christ College, it undertook path-
breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the
introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on
academic discipline, imparting of HoliHolistic Education and
adoption of global higher education practices with the support of
creative and dedicated staff. The University Grants Commission
(UGC) of India conferred Autonomy to Christ College in 20042004 and
identified it as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in
2006. In 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of
Human Resource Development of the Government of India, declared
thethe institution a Deemed to be University, in the name and style
of Christ University. One of the first institutions in India to
be
accredited in 1998 by the NAAC, and subsequently in 2004 and
2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has the top grade ‘A’ in the
4-point scale.
TheThe multi-disciplinary University which focuses on teaching
research and service offers Bachelorstodoctoral programmes in
humanities, social sciences, science, commerce, management,
engineering, education, and law to oveover 21000 students. The
campus is a living example for the harmonious multiculturalism with
students from all the states of India and around 60 different
countries. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) publishes six peer-
rreviewed research journals and has published more than 300 books
in Kannada and English. A promoter of sports, music and literary
activities, it is a nurturing ground for creative excellence.

The Department of Management Studies
The Department of Management Studies was established in the year
1991. It has a clearly defined approach for creating quality
managers and entrepreneurs to face the challenges of the business
world. The Department offers undergraduate courses such as
Bachelors of Business Administration (B(BBA), Bachelors in Hotel
Management (BHM) and post graduate courses like MBA (Finance
Management) and MBA (Executive) that are
specificallydesignedtodisseminate academic and applied knowledge in
the field of business management.
ChristUniversityManagement Association (CUMA) is a conglomerate
of students and teachers of the Department of Management Studies
working together for the welfare and holistic development of the
students. The association encourages and promotes the students to
showcase talents andand hone their skills by providing
opportunities to excel in their areas of interest. The association
is the backbone to the varied activities that the Department hosts
and the core of its functionality.

Arthayudh stands for ‘Combat for Wealth’ and is the Annual
National Level Inter-CCollegiate Post Graduate Management Fest that
celebrates the gathering of students from different colleges and
universities who lock their wits and put their managerial knowledge
and skills to test. The fest provides a platform to the
participating students to display their acquired knowledge in the
area of Management ththrough various competitive events aimed at
nurturing holistically developed professionals and managers, to
meet the expectations of the current fast-paced business world.

The theme for Arthayudh 2019 is ‘Geniokratio’, which means the
‘System of Government’, that advocates problem solving, creative
intelligence and compassion. The world today would not be
functioning the way it is, if not for the various types of
Governments ruling the countries across the globe. DemocDemocracy
and Republican are not the only orderly forms of Government
prevalent in today’s world. The one form that is considerably
overshadowed is the Geniocracy, a form of Government that rules
with creativity, intelligence and innovation. Instead of the
traditional liberal democracy, Geniocracy insists ththat the
representatives meet a certain level of problem solving and
creative intelligence to overcome the challenges of the State.
Similarly, in the current world scenario, only by conquering the
hurdles with intelligence and innovation can the budding managers
emerge successfully.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Participants are expected to report at the Registration Desk
by
08:15 AM on 20 September, 2019
2. Participation certificates will be available in the Placement
Room in
Central Block soon after the completion of each rounds.
3. Unauthorized access to event venues is strictly
prohibited.
4.4. Participants are requested to approach the Help Desk for
any queries.
5. Registration tag is mandatory while in the campus and at
event
venues. Food and refreshments will be served only on producing
the
registration tag.
6. Participants are requested to follow the instructions given
by the
Event coordinators at all times.
77. Organisers have the right to make changes in the events
without prior
notice, in case of contingencies.
8. Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
9. Smoking and alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited inside
the
campus.
10. Entry to Hostel building is strictly prohibited. Prior
permission needs
to be taken from the organisers to enter the Hostel
building.
11.11. Participants shall maintain etiquette at all times during
the fest and
any form of misbehaviour or violation of rules of the University
shall be
dealt seriously.
12. Travelling to and fro from college to hotels will be taken
care of only
for those participants who are availing accommodation provided
by the
college.
13.13. Participants are requested to approach the Grievance
Committee in
case of any grievances.
14. Participants are required to make their own arrangements
for
laptops and pen-drives.
15. Corporate Even participants must provide their Corporte ID
as a
proof to participate in the event.
16.16. To avail TDS benefits on receiving the cash prize, at
least one
member per team is expected to carry a PAN card.
