ICC WORLD CUP FINAL

On April 2, 2011, the ICC World cup came to finals took place . India and Sri Lanka were theteams to participate in the final. Yesterday That day was a very precious day to both the countries.

Every one was excited as who would win the ICC wWorld cCup. People of both countries prayed for

victory.

At 2:30 p.m, the match was started with (past tense since you are reporting one day later) by the

toss. In that, Sri Lanka won the toss and they (it is understood since it is the subject)chose to bat first.

India did not hasve a problem to in batting second because they haved confidence with them.We

watched aAfter the toss getting over we watched the match which started with the Sri Lanka batting.

The opening batsmen for Sri Lanka were Upul Tharanga and Jayawardene. Upul Tharanga got

two runs for 20 balls and then he wascaught out in Zaheers over. Tillakaratne Dilshan next entered

into the ground and he played very well. After getting 33 runs for of49 balls, he was caught out in

Harbhajan Singhs over. Like that Similarly , Kumar Sangakkara, Samaraweera, Kapugedera and

Kulasekara all the lankan batsmeneveryone gave their best to made Srilanka reach a good score.

Kulasekara hit one six in the last ball of this world cup.

Jayawardene was gave an effect to took century on this world cup and really he doing very well.

He scored 103 runs for 88 balls and not out until the over got finish. TOI analysis: Jayawardene

anchored the innings with class and authority to ensure there was no middle order collapse. His

twins partnerships with Kulasekara and Perera helped Lanka post a challenging total.

Totally Lanka scored a challenging total 274 runs, 6 wickets and over got finish and they gave thetarget to Indian team is 275 runs. It is really tuff to take because it is high challenging scores.

At the same time Indian team bowled and fielded very well, in starting 10 overs they gave 31

runs but later Lanka got more runs in Sreesanth bowling in 8 overs he gave 52 runs to Lanka. Last

two overs of Sreesanth gave to Sachin Tendulkar because he gave more runs to Lanka. Yuvraj and

Zaheer took two wickets, Harbhajan took one wicket and Dhoni made one run out. Over all our

players did a fantastic job. TOI analysis says the Indian bowlers did a decent job but bowled badly in

the Batting Power play where they were all over the place.

Next, the Indian team started their playing after a half an hour break. Our players totally tired even

though they did a wonderful job in the end. The opening batsmen of Indian team were Virender

Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar but usually the second batsmen are Gautam Gambhir. I do not know

why Dhoni has changed the order may be he did some strategy on this final match.

After match started, everyone got shocked because Sehwag caught lbw (leg before wicket) within

two balls and without single run. Next Gambhir enter into the field. Then match getting interested

because Tendulkar got two four. Nevertheless, all of a sudden at the time of Indias run 31, Tendulkar

caught out with 18 runs for 14 balls. No one except from him because everyone taught Sachin will

give century but unfortunately, Sachin went out the ground. The whole stadiums got upset in that

situation because both of the players are well players. So many people lost their faith in the Indian

team. Both players are out in Malinga overs.

Then Virat Kohli in the grassland with a tension because now players under pressure because we

have chase the challenging total in the tuff situation. However, both of them played relax and very

well, they stand so long time and scored good runs in a short over. At the time of India are runs 114,

Virat Kohli stick out but he scored 35 runs for 49 balls, he got four fours.

The next player should be Yuvraj but instead of him, Dhoni entered into the cricket battlefield.

Dhoni struck form at the right time and he took the game away from Sri Lankans with some sensible

batting. Both Gambhir and Dhoni partnership gave an astonishing score to the team. Especially

Gambhir done a superb job and he played outstanding. Unfortunately, Gambhir got clean bold by

Perera. Nevertheless, he scored 97 runs for 122 balls, nine four. He felt badly and audience because

he missed his century, 3 more runs for getting century unluckily he lost.

After Gambhir gone out, Yuvraj entered into the pasture and he hit a four in the second ball itself

once he came to the field. His fielding also very awe-inspiring, because he dived to prevent the ball

for not getting the runs. Yuvraj performed very well and he scored 21 runs for 24 balls and Dhoni

gave outstanding performance because he scored 91 runs with 79 balls, two six and nine four.

Gambhirs knock and his partnership with Kohli and Dhoni put India back on track after early

interrupts. Dhoni hit the last ball of this world cup and got six.

Sri Lanka played very well. Their bowling and fielding was amazing. Especially Malinga and

Muralitharan was bowl fastly. TOI analysis says that the Sri Lankan bowling missed the spin skills of

Ajantha Mendis and Rangana Herath.

At the end of match, India won the ICC WORLD CUP 2011. India got wonderful score 277 for

48.2 overs and we lost only four wickets. India created history, no team had ever won a World Cup

on home ground, no side had ever successfully chased a target in excess of 250 in a World Cup final,

and no team had ever won after a player in the opposite side had hit a century in a final.

After a long time, nearly 28 years taken for making this World Cup successfully, three successive

damp squibs (1999, 2003 and 2007). India has become only the third country after Australia and the

West Indies to win the World Cup more than once.

Then the Board members gave the medals to the winning team and runner team. The President of

Bangladesh cricket board gave the medals to the runner team players of Sri Lanka and the Vice-

President of Bangladesh cricket board gave the medal to the winning team players of India. Dhoni

got Man of the Match trophy; Yuvraj got Man of the Tournament; Zaheer Khan wasjoint top

wicket taker and Gautham Gambhir was the Top Scorer in the world cup final.

Finally, the ICCI President Sharad Pawar gave the ICC WORLD CUP to the winning team of

INDIA and India proudly got the trophy with the full of happiness and cheerful. They took that

trophy and running around the ground. Then they share their thoughts and feelings with the media

people of full enthusiasm and they answered the media people queries with the full of excitement.
