ARTISANS 8TH GRADE

8TH GRADE ARTISANS This is an advanced art class as students learn about Artists and Historical “Old World”

hand-made art techniques/tool usage to create functional art forms in 1/2/3 Dimensions.

Media include, wire sculpture, Professional Printmaking, Claystone clay sculpture/vessels,

2/3-D metalwork/copper lanterns & metal art forms, advanced basket making/weaving,

glass mosaic trivets, shell design frame, wood burning, leather work, 2-D collage, acrylic

painting in stages/silhouette, drawing, and crafts. Students will be entered in two major Art

Contests: Houston Livestock Show/Rodeo and Society for the Performing Arts along with

Go Texan This class is a “High School Credited Class” - and a required prerequisite for 2

and 3/D Art Classes/Advanced Art Classes/A.P. Art for high school.

No prior middle school Art classes required. Class size limit : 20
