Godly Play Taster Demonstration Ashbourne Parish Hall
Saturday 30th
of November 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Godly Play is a creative, tried and tested method of religious education and spiritual formation for children. It takes place in many contexts such as schools, hospitals, parishes and homes. It offers a wonderful method to Family Mass groups, teachers, chaplains, catechists, pastoral workers and parents/grandparents. A Taster demonstration for those who are unfamiliar with or new to Godly Play will take place in Ashbourne Parish on Saturday 30th November. The purpose of this Taster Session is to
Introduce participants to Godly Play and present the key elements of the Godly Play method.
Offer an experience of Godly Play presentations from the Sacred Story, Liturgical and Parable genres.
Provide opportunity for exploration of the possibilities for use of Godly Play at parish level and experiences from other contexts will be shared.
This process will be facilitated by Cora O’Farrell, a Godly Play trainer from Godly Play Ireland. At the end of the session, participants should be in a position to access support which will enable them to try out a Godly Play story in the parish context. Subsequent to this, participants could apply to avail of Accredited Core Training for storytellers and doorpersons which is offered annually by Godly Play Ireland.
