As there is so much in the market today for winters that I think most of us have our wardrobes almost filled to an extent or more than it. When we have to wear them one by one it is an excitement may be, as we want to look all the great time no matter where we are. Ok fine as you know it is fun till here, now comes the turn when we have to take care of these clothes so that they can be worn with the same pride and glow the next year even. I think it must be a boring question now, yes it is, but is equally important as well. Otherwise we would have the very nasty surprises waiting for us the next winters. Well, even I would not love this to happen with you so I have before you some quick tips that would help you prevent such unwanted incidents.

(1) Before you happen to pack all your winter outfits never forget to clean them properly. It is important because the dirt particles left on these clothes can become a permanent stain if not washed away on time. Also this will prevent the insects to breed in these clothes.

(2) If ‘where to store these clothes is your question’ then my answer is that kindly store these clothes in plastic boxes or containers. And also clean these containers before storing your clothes in them. And if at the moment you do not have the [plastic containers then for the meanwhile you can also store them in the cardboard boxes. Again even need to be clean. But then it is to warn you that even such boxes may invite the bugs. Ok, if you do agree with either of the options then the last option for you would be the unused suitcase. Safe and convenient. Line the boxes, suitcase etc wherever you are keeping your clothes with the acid free tissue.

Long Live – Winter WearWinter Wear Care

Page 28: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

(3) Usually people use the mothballs to prevent the insects attacking the winter clothes. But then keep in mind that these balls tend to attract the children towards them and they can also be very dangerous for them and can extremely deadly in their results. So it is better to use the acid free linings or the cedar blocks if there is any such danger of kids. Whichever of these you use none of them can be promising to prevent your clothes from clothes.

(4) It might sound strange yet true that if you hang your sweaters or any such cloth for a longer time then it may de-shape itself and it would become almost next to impossible to retain their shape again. So it is better to fold these clothes properly. I will tell you how to do it. Just start keeping your lightest cloth to the very bottom and then keep on placing the heavier one on to it. Always try to pack them tightly that will prevent the air to pass through. But do not make a blunder of packing them extremely tight as it will not allow a room for them to breathe.

(5) The four essentials of the storage requirements would be the area or the container need to be cool, dark, clean and dry. Only then the protection of your clothes can be assured. And yes most important of all that always strictly keep away your clothes from areas that may be exposed to heating sources or else you may end up your clothes in ashes. And dryness is preferred as the wetness attracts insects. So if you love your clothes, want to wear them the next winter it is very easy just by following the above given suggestions.

TRAVEL

Thailand is a country located in a peninsula of Southeast Asia. It is considered to be a kingdom, both from a political and geographic point of view: a constitutional monarch with absolutely stunning landscapes, flora and fauna. The North of the country has a mountainous area, the centre is dominated by a river valley which runs into the Gulf of Thailand and to the West and East Thailand enjoys the gorgeous views of seas and oceans. In the past years, the tourism developed a lot, more and more people choosing this as a holiday destination.

But just like every great thing has a downside, Thailand is no exception. It also becomes increasingly famous for the cheap sex people can buy, prostitution and, of course, the “lady boys” Thailand provides. Depending on one’s interest, this country can provide almost everything: from pure wild nature, to the dazzling skyscrapers in Bangkok, an exotic culture and a special civilization, attraction of all sorts, festivals, etc.

Helpful Answers From Granny!

"Granny! Our kitchen has been invaded by the nearest ant nest!"

Granny says:   'Ants hate cucumbers. Find the ant hole and leave cucumber skin next to it, they won't poke their little heads out!'

As we were walking by the local park, we saw granny sitting with a friend, and thought it would be the perfect time to ask her advice   about some daily problems we've been having around the house!

Page 60: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

" Granny! Our ice always comes out 'foggy' and opaque, how can we make nice clear ice? "

Granny says:   'If you want clear ice, just boil the water before you freeze them and keep them isolated, it's the other particles in   the water that makes it look dirty.'

" Granny! I got chewing gum stuck on my favorite shirt and I can't get it off! "

Page 61: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

Granny Says:   'If you have chewing gum stuck to your clothes, put them in the freezer for about an hour. Then you should be able tosimply remove the frozen chewing gum by hand.'

Granny next to her:   'Sorry to cut in, but tell them they can also smear a tiny bit of peanut butter on it and let it sit. The fat in thebutter will cause the chewing gum to love its hold.'

" Granny! We have unwanted guests in the house - rats! "

Granny says:   'Spill some black pepper where ever you find mice or rats, they'll take one sniff and head for the hills!'

" Granny! My hair has lost its luster and spark! "

Page 62: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

Granny says:   'If you want luster in your hair (personally I prefer distinguished grey hair), add a spoon of vinegar and then wash   really well. The luster and shine will reappear!'

" Granny! I can never squeeze all the juice out of lemons, there's always more left over. "

Granny says:   'Soak the lemons in hot water for one hour, and then you'll easily squeeze out all the juice.'

" Granny! Remember that shirt I stuck my chewing gum to? Well now I spilt ink on on it! "

Page 63: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

Granny (rolling her eyes) says:   'Get some toothpaste and rub it on the ink stains. Then let it completely dry and take it to the wash. If you acted fast enough, you just may get a clean shirt back.'

" Granny! How can I stop my eyes from watering while I cut onions? "

Page 64: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

Granny says:   'There are several ways. First you can cut the onions under cool water, and suprisingly, chewing gum while cutting will sometimes lower the need for tears.

Granny next to her:   'Sorry but I'd like to add that you can also light a candle near the cutting board, the fire burns the gases that cause your eyes to water.

Page 65: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

" Granny! Every time we clean the mirror, we leave obvious marks on it. How to make it completely clean? "

Granny says:   'To clean the mirror so it will look new and shiny, clean first with regular cleaning material to remove the dirt and dust layers. Then mix a glass of vinegar with a quarter cup of water and use some newspaper to gently clean the mirror. After that go over that wet area with a fresh and dry newspaper. The mirror will look as new.

" Granny! I don't have much time and I'm hungry, how can I boil potatos faster? "

Granny Says:   'Peel one side of each potato before you boil them, and they'll be ready much faster.'

Granny next to her:   'Sorry again, but I'd like to add a little tip - to keep peeled potatos in their fresh white color, soak them in cold water and add a few drops of vinegar before putting in the fridge.

Page 66: Asian Diva-November Issue

62

" Granny! It takes too long to peel sweet potatos! "

Granny says:   'Boil them, and then immediately soak in cold water for a few minutes. The peeling will be much easier.'.
