a message from your erAs we start the winter season, I would

like reflect on the two previous months. We had a great fall at the lodge, I believe. Octoberfest went very well and is increas-ing in popularity every year. It was en-joyed by everyone who attended. Hallow-een was very successful and I keep getting comments about it being the best party in town. With dragons and spiders aplenty and the great decorations by Naoma Glea-son and the volunteers it was a fun time for all. Special thanks to George Markatos and Mark Lee for their efforts. Smoking Joe provided the music that night and kept the music flowing. Our annual turkey roll was very well attended and everyone had

a good time gearing up for the coming holidays. We gave away plenty of hams, steaks, and of course turkeys to complete holiday meals.

As we approach the Christmas and New Year holidays I wish everyone the very best in these times. The ski season is off to a great start and I hope all have a fantastic time on the slopes. Stay safe at all times and pray for snow.

I would like to remind everyone that in the Obligation the new member repeats: “I will never introduce into the Order anything of a political or sectarian charac-ter, nor in any way by my conduct bring reproach upon it.” Please keep politics out

of the Lodge. It is a long way to the November elections of 2016 and we should all keep the politics involved at bay. Please always show respect to-wards one another and their opinions.

Looking forward to seeing you about the lodge and wanting to hear any com-ments or questions you may have.

Sincerely, Jim Salan ER

Lodge update By Ron Bates, Lodge Manager

Hello esteemed Lodge members,O.K., so the off season’s almost done and another… or rather

the best ski season in a long time is right around the corner. And that means that the Lodge is always the place to be.

Here at the Lodge, we are looking for new members to volun-teer to man the door on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is the BEST way for new members to meet the membership. It only requires 3 hours per shift, from 5p. to 8p., and the same hours on Fri-days. A sign-up sheet will be on the piano, or contact Kelly, your floor Manager who will be keeping the door schedule.

Starting in December, we will be bringing back a time honored tradition, the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm a birthday cake, baked by Kelly, is served for all those members that are celebrating a birthday that month. Let’s make your birthday a month to celebrate.

I would like to ask our membership to be considerate of their fellow members during this winter season. We have just expe-rienced the busiest summer that I can remember, please try not to invite so many guest that members feel uncomfortable, or cannot find a place to sit. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.

Halloween was a great success this year, we had over 600 guests. Removing the bar stools made the bar one long walkup bar and gave our bartenders the ability to provide much improved service. Thanks for your cooperation. Smoking Joe and Zo did a great job as usual and a grand time was had by all. Thanks to Jesse and Kelly for providing baked apps until 8:30p.

For New Year’s Eve we will be serving appetizers of smoked Salmon, beef skewers w/ a sweet chili jam, and smoked boursin stuffed in heirloom cherry tomatoes. The entrée will consist of a Braised Buffalo Short Rib, served over green chile polenta, with bacon roasted Brussel sprouts. All finished with a triple choco-late mousse. Gary Quist and the Allstars will start at 8p.m. for your listening and dancing pleasure.

The cost will be $35 per person ,gratuity not included so please tip your servers. Be sure to signup at the bar and pre pay.

With lots of great events and nights at the Lodge, I know I’ll be seeing you soon.
