MESSAGE FROM FR. JULIO LORD IN YOU I TRUST It is of the utmost importance to trust in God be-cause there is very little we can control, we cannot know what will happen later let alone tomorrow. We cannot know what others will decide. We don't know what diseases are waiting for us, the work we're going to get, nor where they're going to assign us. Let alone the control we have over

governments, about the world's trends, the near or remote future, etc. Now we have special notion of all this as a sample button for the pandemic. Nothing is safe or stable in this world. First of all, this, in the face of illness or the death of loved ones, what can we do? Just trust in God, leave it in his hands, know that He is in the midst of everything, illumi-nating our path that leads to Him, no matter what hap-pens, despite any contradiction of this world. The Word assures us: God intervenes in everything for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28). That is, if we live in faith, we can all profit, benefit, and grow. Let us think of Mary and Joseph, all that they had to suf-fer. It would seem to them, like us, that they were making mistakes, that it would have been better not to go to Beth-lehem at that time, for there they had no place to give birth worthily. They might have complained, thinking that if they had stayed in Nazareth, they would not have suf-fered the persecution of Herod, nor should they have gone to Egypt without resources. The vicissitudes of this world may be of all kinds, but we should live in all of this through the peace in God, with the confidence that He is with us, that none of our deci-sions go unnoticed, even if they are clumsy and inade-quate. He is aware of all our limitations, preferences, needs, vicissitudes... He is with us, let us have peace in that truth; he holds us in his hand amid whatever it is we must live in this world; even if we make mistakes, they are natural in our limited condition, but God sees the heart, the intentions, and no matter what happens by accident, injustice or clumsiness. The Lord of Divine Mercy that we celebrate today invites us with insistence to trust Him. We will certainly do much better; we will have peace during whatever happens in this world. Let us trust Him more than men, more than ourselves. Jeremiah 17:5 "This is how Yahweh speaks: Cursed is the man who trusts another man, who seeks his support in a mortal, and who turns his heart away from Yahweh! ... Blessed is he who trusts Yahweh, and who puts his hope in him!" Thank you, Lord because you accompany us, and we can have peace, with the cross that we carry every day, and even when it is our turn to leave this world, for we know that you are the resurrection and the life. We know that we are in your hands, that you are on the slope of every hair on our head, of everything we live and suffer.

MENSÁJE DE PADRE JULIO SEÑOR EN TI CONFÍO Es de suma importancia confiar en Dios, pues es muy poco lo que podemos controlar, no podemos saber lo que pasará al rato ni mucho menos maña-na. No podemos saber lo que decidirán los demás, ni los propios hijos, ni la propia pareja. No sabe-mos las enfermedades que nos esperan, ni el traba-jo que conseguiremos, ni a dónde nos asignarán. Ni se diga del control que tenemos sobre los gobiernos, sobre las tendencias del mundo, ni mucho menos del futu-ro cercano ni remoto. Ahora tenemos especial noción de todo esto como botón de muestra por la pandemia. Nada es seguro ni estable en este mundo. Ante todo, esto, ante las enfermedades o la muerte de seres queridos, ¿qué podemos hacer? Solo confiar en Dios, dejarlo en sus manos, saber que El está en medio de todo, iluminando nuestro camino que lleva a Él, pase lo que pa-se, pese a cualquier contrariedad de este mundo. La Pala-bra nos asegura: en todo interviene Dios para bien de los que le aman (Romanos 8,28). Es decir, si lo vivimos con fe, de todo podemos sacar provecho, beneficio, crecimien-to. Pensemos en María y José, todo lo que les tocó sufrir. Les parecería, como a nosotros, que estaban cometiendo erro-res, que hubiera sido mejor no ir a Belén en ese momento, pues allá no tuvieron lugar para dar a luz dignamente. Podrían haberse quejado, pensando que si hubieran que-dado en Nazaret no habrían sufrido la persecución de He-rodes ni tendrían que haberse ido a Egipto sin recursos. Las vicisitudes de este mundo pueden ser de todo tipo, pero debemos de vivir todo esto en la paz de Dios, en la confianza de que El está con nosotros, que no le pasan desapercibidas ninguna de nuestras decisiones, aun cuando sean torpes e inadecuadas. Está consciente de todas nues-tras limitaciones, preferencias, necesidades, vicisitudes… El está con nosotros, tengamos paz en esa verdad; no nos deja de su mano en medio de lo que sea que nos toque vivir en este mundo; aun si cometemos errores, son natu-rales en nuestra condición limitada, pero Dios ve el cora-zón, las intenciones, y no importa lo que sucede por acci-dente, por injusticia o por torpeza. El Señor de la Divina Misericordia que hoy celebramos nos invita con insistencia a confiar en Él. Sin duda nos irá mu-cho mejor, tendremos paz en medio de lo que sea que suceda en este mundo. Confiemos en El más que en los hombres, más que en nosotros. Jeremías 17,5ss. “Así habla Yahvé: ¡Maldito el hombre que confía en otro hombre, que busca su apoyo en un mortal, y que aparta su corazón de Yahvé! … ¡Bendito el que con-fía en Yahvé, y que en él pone su esperanza! …” Gracias Señor porque nos acompañas, y podemos tener paz, con la cruz de cada día que nos toque llevar, e incluso cuando nos toque dejar este mundo, ya que sabemos que eres la resurrección y la vida. Sabemos que estamos en tus manos, que estas al pendiente de cada cabello de nuestra cabeza, de todo lo que vivimos y sufrimos.


BLESSED CAESAR DE BUS/BENDITO CÉSAR DE BUS April 15th

Like so many of us, Caesar de Bus struggled with the decision about what to do with his life. After com-pleting his Jesuit education he had difficulty settling between a military and a literary career. He wrote some plays but ultimately settled for life in the army and at court. For a time, life was going rather smoothly for the engaging, well-to-do young Frenchman. He was con-fident he had made the right choice. That was until he saw firsthand the realities of battle, in-cluding the Saint Bartholomew’s Day massacres of French Protestants in 1572. He fell seriously ill and found himself reviewing his priorities, including his spiritual life. By the time he had recovered, Caesar had resolved to become a priest. Following his ordination in 1582, he undertook special pastoral work: teaching the catechism to ordinary people living in neglected, rural, out-of-the-way places. His efforts were badly needed and well received. Working with his cousin, Caesar developed a program of family catechesis. The goal—to ward off heresy among the people—met the approval of local bishops. Out of these efforts grew a new religious congregation: the Fathers of Christian Doctrine. One of Caesar’s works, Instructions for the Fam-ily on the Four Parts of the Roman Catechism, was published 60 years after his death. He was beatified in 1975.

Después de comple-tar su educación jesuita tuvo dificulta-des para establecerse entre un ejército y una carrera literaria. Escribió algunas obras de teatro, pero finalmente se conformó con la vida en el ejército y en la corte. Durante un tiempo, la vida iba bastan-te bien para el joven francés atractivo y apto. Estaba seguro de que había tomado la decisión correcta. Eso fue hasta que vio de primera mano las realidades de la batalla, incluyendo las masacres del Día de San Bartolomé de

protestantes franceses en 1572. Cayó gravemente enfermo y se encontró revisando sus prioridades, incluyendo su vida espiritual.
