Reflection of the Gospel:
The Pharisees and the disciples both
question Jesus about the legality of a
husband divorcing his wife. What God
has joined, Jesus sys, human beings
must not separate. The longer form of
the Gospel reading includes Jesus’ in-
struction to his disciples who were turn-
ing back the people bringing their chil-
dren to him, to let the children come.
There is a longer and shorter form of
today’s reading.

VIVA LA FIESTA! We celebrate our Parish
Harvest Festival 2018 this weekend. Once again,
we come together to celebrate as one community
sharing food and delicacies, songs and dances,
and games as well. We are a diverse community,
coming from different ethnic backgrounds, that
is evident through these food and dances. It is a
celebration and sharing of our culture. This festival brings us
together and leads us to live a constant communion as one Body of
Christ. This festival is made possible because of the help and
support of each one. Last Saturday, it was so inspiring to see our
brothers and sisters, including the young and kids, helping set up
the booths. Everyone was certainly tired but happy. This weekend,
more people are involved as they prepare and sell food and others.
I wish then, to thank all of them, from the executive committee
and everyone who selflessly shared her or his time and talents.
Likewise, we are also grateful to all our donors, for our raffle
tickets, and items that were donated for the auction and basket of
cheer. There are a lot more definitely. May the Lord, who cannot
be outdone in generosity bless you and reward you a hundredfold.
Let us have fun this weekend. Let us enjoy the food, songs, dances
and games. Let us cherish the presence of each one as we come
together to continue building and strengthening our parish
community. May God bless you

DID YOU KNOW? The Importance of Emotional Boundaries We discuss the importance of physical boundaries quite a bit,
teaching children to understand privacy and the difference between
good touches and bad touches. But emotional boundaries are just
as important, if not more so, because abuse victims are often ma-
nipulated into trusting and believing their abusers. Predators can
violate emotional boundaries fairly easily, worming their way into
a child’s life and creating a false relationship. Parents should talk
to their children about appropriate boundaries for their emotional
relationships — with teachers, the parents of their friends, and
other adults in their lives. Children do not always have the emo-
tional maturity to set their own boundaries, so parents should be on
the lookout for anything that seems inappropriate or “off” about
the relationships their children form with other adults. To learn

VIVA LA FIESTA! Celebramos este fin de semana
nuestro Parroquial Festival Harvest 2018. Una vez
más, nos reunimos para celebrar como una comuni-
dad que comparte comida y manjares, canciones y
bailes, y también juegos. Somos una comunidad
diversa, provenientes de diferentes orígenes étnicos,
que es evidente a través de estos alimentos y bailes.
Es una celebración y compartir de nuestra cultura. Este festival nos
une y nos lleva a vivir una comunión constante como un Cuerpo de
Cristo. Este festival es posible gracias a la ayuda y el apoyo de cada
uno. El sábado pasado, fue muy inspirador ver a nuestros hermanos
y hermanas, incluidos los jóvenes y los niños, ayudar instalar los
puestos. Todos estaban ciertamente cansados pero felices. Este fin
de semana, más personas participan en la preparación y venta de
alimentos. Deseo, entonces, agradecerles a todos, desde el comité
ejecutivo y a todos los que desinteresadamente compartieron su
tiempo y sus talentos. Del mismo modo, también estamos
agradecidos a todos nuestros donantes, por nuestros boletos para la
rifa y los artículos que fueron donados para la subasta y la canasta

¿SABÍA USTED? La importancia de los límites emocionales
Discutimos la importancia de los límites físicos un poco, ense-
ñando a los niños a comprender la privacidad y la diferencia
entre las buenas formas de ser tocados y las malas maneras de
ser tocados. Pero los límites emocionales son igual de impor-
tantes, si no más, porque las víctimas de abuso a menudo son
manipuladas para confiar y creer en sus abusadores. Los
depredadores pueden violar los límites emocionales con bastan-
te facilidad, abriéndose camino en la vida de un niño y creando
una relación falsa. Los padres de familia deben hablar con sus
hijos sobre los límites apropiados con sus relaciones emociona-
les, con los maestros, los padres de sus amigos y otros adultos
en sus vidas. Los niños no siempre tienen la madurez emocio-
nal para establecer sus propios límites, por lo que los padres de
familia deben estar atentos a cualquier cosa que parezca inapro-
piada o “desagradable” sobre las relaciones que sus hijos for-
