ASSESSMENT NOTIFICATION Photography and Digital Media

Year 10 – 2020 Assessment Task: ‘People and Places’ assessment Subject: Photography and Digital Media

Syllabus Outcomes:

5.1 develops range and autonomy in selecting and applying photographic and digital media conventions and

procedures to make photographic and digital works

5.2 makes photographic and digital works informed by their understanding of the function of and relationships

between artist-artwork-world-audience

5.3 makes photographic and digital works informed by an understanding of how the frames affect meaning

5.4 investigates the world as a source of ideas, concepts and subject matter for photographic and digital works

5.5 makes informed choices to develop and extend concepts and different meanings in their photographic and

digital works

5.6 selects appropriate procedures and techniques to make and refine photographic and digital works.

Task Description

Students will use photographs of themselves, other people, places they

have visited and everyday objects to produce a Body of Work (BOW)

demonstrating their skills in this digital topic – ‘People and Places’.

Students will submit a series of 6 photographs for assessing based on a

different theme (see themes below in table). Each photograph must be

taken by the student themselves and manipulated on either Photoshop or

Pic Monkey only.

No images will be accepted from Google Images or any other internet

website. This will be deemed as copy right, fraud or plagiarism resulting in

an instant failure of assessment task!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Presentation and submission needs to happen in two ways. All images

need to be emailed to myself [email protected] well as a hard

copy. Print out in colour A4 size and glued into your Process Diary.

Note: This task is part of your assessment for Year 10 in this subject. Tasks that are not submitted on the due date will be given a zero mark and may impact on your ability to successfully complete this course. If you are sick on the due date you will have to provide a medical certificate to support your appeal. This medical certificate will need to be presented to Ms Rydstrand or your teacher the morning of the first day you are back at school.
