Their rights were denied as colonists of Great Britain This is the most significant because this was “The straw

that broke the camels back” in a sense. The people had put up with so much crap from their British “brothers” and they had, had it. They revolted primarily because of this reason.

The colonists didn’t agree with the laws of Britain and so wished to go by their own laws This is important because they wanted independence from the

King, and his laws. They felt that they deserved their own government system where THEIR voices would be heard and THEIR opinions valued and considered. This is not the most important reason because they had always wanted this, in fact, New France to the north wanted this as well, this wasn’t the turning point it was simply a strong weighing factor to why they finally decided to go to war with their mother country.

There was taxation without representation This is definitely a major factor to the American Revolution

because the people were being taxed more and more heavily and they weren’t entirely sure about what for. Naturally people like to know where and why their hard earned “money” (in the form of produce, live stalk, etc.) is going. When the taxes got steadily heavier the people demanded to know what was going on back home. When they were denied that knowledge, they began to consider a revolution. This isn’t the most important because they didn’t actually decide to revolt because of this, this just brought the idea to the table.

The colonies' wealth was suffering because of the various trading regulations Finally, this is important because if a nation has little

wealth then they aren’t happy people, a wealthy nation is a happy nation. Because they were unhappy they were more willing to come to the agreement of a rebellion. It’s not the most important because it only effected their feelings for the British empire, it didn’t make them actually rebel.
