Erin Grunwell starts to work in a school where there is a large amount of racist and gang problems amongst the teens
she tries to earn their respect and gives it back to them, by sacrificing a lot of her personal time just for her new students
The characters have have severe family problems and nearly all the students have either been part of gun crimes
As time progresses they begin to respect one and another and the teacher as well, becoming better students
IS THIS A WHOLE NARRATIVE, A SECTION OR AN ENIGMA?
Section.
• This is only a 2:35 minute section from the film
This is during the scene where Eva has confessed in court that her boyfriend Paco killed the victim. After confessing the truth, her group members came and verbally and physically (to an extent) attacked her.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT A SECTION OF A NARRATIVE, WHAT FUNCTION DOES THIS SECTION HAVE FOR THE NARRATIVE? (THINK ABOUT THE WHOLE)
She's in court in the witness box
As she looks around she stumbles to confess the truth
She then admits the truth that Paco killed the boy
As she runs, she gets caught by them
They begin to give her warnings and threatening her.
They then leave her by dashing her on the ground
The function of the END scene is to answer all enigma's that were answered at the: -beginning (which is who did he kill)
-through the film (why did he kill him and how did he find him)
As she’s walking out the school she begins to run away from her group members
DOES THE FILM FOLLOW THE CONVENTIONAL NARRATIVE (3 PART)? EXPLAIN YES OR NO (JHANE)
NoThe film is non linear with changing the order of time in a very confusing way to create enigmas for the audience however the order of time was used only in flashbacks.
