June 2018
2 June 2018
This past year has been a busy one at Tanglwood Resorts. The Lake View Building had a new face lift with the new paint color. New stairwells have been installed as well as a new front porch deck.
We have installed 35 new couches and chairs in the living room area and have placed the previous living area chairs in the bedrooms.
The septic tanks at the Golf area will be getting replaced this season.
A tornado touched down in the local community; however, Tanglwood Resorts did not sustain any damage.
We look forward to you visiting us and seeing the new changes that have been made at the Resort!

Tanglwood Resort Customer Satisfaction Score Overview
Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI)“What I can measure I can Manage”. CSI scores are one of a few key metrics the Board and Management use to gauge how we are doing and what we need to focus on. Similar to your child’s report card from school, it provides valuable insight about how things are really going. As you will see scores are slightly lower than last year during this time period mainly due to the housekeeping department being totally revamped and the rebuilding of the team. General Manager, Carl Martens, has been doing the unit inspections since mid-March and scores have been improving. Also lowering our scores are the worn out couches and dining room chairs which we are in the process of replacing. As a reminder, the guests are ultimately the ones that tell us how we are really doing and your comments are invaluable. We thank you for your support in helping Tanglwood increase its scores and provide great vacations!

Caution - Don’t BE A VICTIMYou may have noticed over the last few years a tremendous increase in the number of postcard mailings, emails, and/or telephone solicitations you may be receiving from so-called timeshare relief companies. They typically operate under a variety of ever-changing names and offer to sell or dispose of your interval. In some cases the caller will make false representations that they work for the resort, they do not. You may initially be given the impression that the call, seminar or webinar is an opportunity to “Sell” your interval. Instead, you are presented with a compelling opportunity to PAY for relief of your ownership and its maintenance fee obligation. This “opportunity” can be made to sound very attractive and compelling; however, these companies take your money and leave a trail of false hope, unresolved promises, and possible liability in their wake.
The Board of Directors at Tanglwood Resorts has taken steps to protect owners and the Association from fraudulent transfers by enacting transfer policies. PLEASE DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN THIS SCAM! Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! If you are talking to one of these companies, or thinking of dealing with one of these companies, please call your General Manager first! Call Carl Martens, General Manager, at 570.226.6161!
Change of Ownership Policy After seeking legal counsel, the Tanglwood Resort Master Association has adopted a formal Change of Ownership Policy. As such, the policy is necessary to allow the resort (1) to do appropriate background searches to identify the potential involvement of a Relief Company – one which assumes ownership of an interval without a good faith intent to also assume and satisfy all of the assessment and ownership obligations associated with the transferred interval - and (2) to recover the cost of such searches, and (3) to stop these transfers before they are finalized for the purpose of protecting the interests of all owners and the financial security of the resort.
The full version may be found on www.tanglwoodresorts.com and a copy will be included in the annual fees billing.
Pre Payment Plans
You may make advance payments toward your upcoming year’s fees at any time prior to billing or due date. Many owners do this so when the fees are billed in the fall of each year, they have prepaid credits so only a small amount remains to be paid by due date – please consider this option for your next year’s fees.
Pay Online: VRI website www.vriresorts.com. If you are already registered, simply click “Owners Portal”, and then click on “Login”.
If you are new to the website, you’ll need to Register as a first time user. You must have your email address on file with VRI first. To have your email address added, simply call 1(866) 469-8222 (Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Eastern or Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Eastern) or email [email protected].
To Register: Go to “Owners Portal”, click on “Login”, then “Click Here to Create Your Account”. Enter your Email
Address and select from the Property Code drop down, enter your Account Number, then complete the New User Security Setup and you are in. You may make a payment here. This also shows all information concerning your account including last payment, balance and upcoming reservations. Your email address must be attached to all unit/weeks so if any of your unit/weeks do not appear, please call 1(866) 469-8222 or email [email protected].
Remember, We are Here to Help - Installment Payments: We are here to help if you run into issues paying your bill on time. Don’t wait until your account is sent to outside collections as your costs will increase exponentially.
To verify your account status call Tanglwood Resorts 1(570) 226-6161 Monday - Friday to discuss your options. NOTE: Installment fees may apply and you will be restricted from any type of use (banking, renting, home resort) until your fees are paid in full. As long as your scheduled arrangement is adhered to, you will not accrue any late fees and/or interest.
